Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

The migration date doesn't seem to mean much and it appears no-one at Plus or Greenby can tell you when your migration will actually take place (or not, if you're opted out).

It was 4 weeks from the specified date before we were actually migrated and it was pointed out to me that the message said migration was "from" the date given. But no end date was specified. Fortunately we had minimal problems in the grans scheme of things (800+ messages to re-process is better than losing them, random changes to the appearance of folders in webmail, initially unable to login to our 'primary' mailbox through webmail) though there are some days when mail seems particularly ropey (like today) when we can't connect reliably to our mailboxes.

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

My Greenby email has gone down again ! Outlook fails to connect and if I go into Greenby dashboard and look at my email accounts they have all disappeared ! Been working on/off since December, regularly getting sync issues or claims that the password is incorrect even though I haven't changed it. Now I can't get any thing and neither can the 2 other email accounts under my service. This is causing me significant issue now, what is going on here and do Plusnet actually care  ?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Mines been up and down again all weekend. I did log a ticket with greenby who suggested I would see outages whilst the migration is ongoing. This was after I had received the E-mail saying my account had been fully migrated, so I take from that that when ever they migrate a batch of users everyone else will see issues.

That certainly seems to be the case as I seem to have problems mostly on Sunday/Monday. Though all seemed stable during the holidays ...

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Only found out about this email migration yesterday. I had already switched many of my contacts to public email addys, as a result of PN emails going missing in the past. Gave me a reason to switch the rest away today. Only a few advertising email contacts left so I'll let them whither and d** ! Certainly not going to pay for the service !!

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

I think that we all know that this is an ongoing train wreck. My take? Get away if you can.

I've just moved my email to my domain hosting company* and deleted everything from Plusnet. Don't want to chance it when there is a low cost low risk alternative.

*Mythic Beasts - who are good, like  PN were in the oldern days. If you have any tech savy you might want to check them out, either now or when the Greenby thing starts to charge you for its wonderful "service".

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Just had the email about the migration last night.

Have our mailboxes & domains been migrated?

Logged in to check, It asked me for my details, never done that before. Entered.

Once in I couldn't see my sub-folders initially, had to reset the view and then they are back.

However unable to send emails, get the error

SMTP Error(535): Authentication failed.

Using Chrome browser (webclient), so not sure why I am seeing this.

@RRM

Just had the email about the migration last night.

Which email about Migration? Was it the Welcome to Greenby email or another one?

Have our mailboxes & domains been migrated?

If it was the Welcome email, I would have thought it would have said?

Re: Update on Plusnet email migration to Greenby

Hi

I have just got my email saying that my mailboxes will migrated from 9th Feb  2026 (Hurray!)

But the only mailbox mentioned was  MyUserName@MyUserName.plus.com which I do not use because I still use my original globalnet e-mail MyUserName@globalnet.co.uk

I also received a free domain name from globalnet many years ago which Plusnet still look after and so I also have 3 mailboxes hosted by Plusnet

mailbox1@MyDomainName.co.uk   (which is somehow attached to MyUserName@globalnet.co.uk)

mailbox2@MyDomainName.co.uk

mailbox3@MyDomainName.co.uk

(I also use PlusNet for my Full Fibre Broadband)

Will all my mailboxes be migrated after 9th February, or will it only be the plusnet one, and so I will get a different notification e-mail for my globalnet mailboxes "later" in the migration.

(I tried sending an e-mail to MyUserName@MyUserName.plus.com  but this did not turn up in MyUserName@globalnet.co.uk   so I assume they are totally different mailboxes)

Thanks
