Unable to send/reply to email

Hi all,

Not had any real problems with Plusnet e-Mail for nearly 15 years.  Now, however, problems have started since the announcement of their withdrawal from the e-Mail market.

Got around the first issue of not accepting my details at login time.  The second issue seems to have foxed the support people.  At first any attempt to send/reply to a mail (Compose) caused an error.  However, I've managed to get the main program to at least reply.  Not so if I click on the "Basic Webmail" button at the login page.  This goes to Squirrel Mail.  I login with the normal credentials.  If I click on "Compose/New" or read a e-Mail and click on "reply" the normal text input box appears but when clicking on "send" it triggers an ERROR message.

The difference from a month ago and now is that there used to be generated a type of verification box which one had to input the generated alphabetic characters (6 I think) i.e. ABCDEF.  This verification process step no longer is generated and thus I believe is the issue which causes the failure to send as no user verification has taken place and the program is still set-up for one.  Why it has stopped this two step verification I do not know but it seems more than co-incidental.

Anyone else come across this?

Regards

Re: Unable to send/reply to email

Wow, might have sorted it or the support people have as I have been double checking, nay treble checking, login account syntax, re-saving and trying a new test.

Login to "Basic Webmail" aka Squirrel Mail, go to my test e-Mail.  Apply a little more text and even attach a simple txt file and press "send".  No verification box but it says it went without error.  Go to inbox and yeah the test file is there with it's attachment included.

Loads more testing to do both with web portal and via Squirrel Mail before I can conclude all is mended but at least the present test looks promising.
