Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

But it is working through Thunderbird - weird.

Not really, the mail server itself is probably ok, the fault is in the webmail application server.

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

Yes, thanks - I understand. BUT - when will it get fixed? Is this part of this new web mail "service"?

That's what I thought too, as my mail was coming through MW/TB with no issue - and still is.

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

Yes, webmail does appear to be back up for me. However, that was the case earlier before it failed again.

I think I would rather wait a few hours or hear from someone from the business side before assuming this is fully resolved.

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

Down again for me (3rd time today - the SQLSTATE error again when checking for new mail). The issue seems to be intermittent so some people think it is 'back' then others check some time later and it is 'down' again.

Apologies, I didn't see this thread yesterday. We had a couple of small outages, but was working permanently shortly after your post.

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

Morning.

From my end, I can confirm that webmail was stable yesterday afternoon and is fine this morning.

Thank you.

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread but I tried logging in to webmail just now (Plus.com email adress using Firefix on Windows) for the first times in many months.

The egg timer was taking ages so I switched to basic view and after a while I got this error message:

ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.
Query: LSUB "" "*"

I closed that browser tab and went back to standard view and found I was already logged in so maybe that was the reason for the error. Or does basic interface not work at all now?

At the moment the inbox has been stuck on 'refreshing' for the last ten minutes with no actual emails in view,

Is it taking a very long time for everyone at the moment?

It's always been slow for me which is why I rarely use it.

I was hoping to delete some old emails in the belief this might make the forthcoming tramsition to greenby less problematic. I don't really know if that would be the case.

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

Basic webmail does still work.

Rather looks as though you hit gremlins … which are probably transient.  Have you tried again?

Re: Unable to access webmail - database error

It seems to be working now though it is still very, very  slow.

Showing my ignorance now but if I delete emails via my usual email client (thunderbird) does that also permanently erase them from the plusnet servers?

This depends on how your Thunderbird is set up. If you use IMAP (i.e. you leave a copy on server) then yes.
