Thunderbird not Connecting to PN Server

Hi, I am seeking some help, please?

Without changing any settings 8th September I was not able to logon to PN email POP (or IMAP) server using normal username and password. Thunderbird will ask for password details but no connection is allowed.

The same username and password allows me to logon to PN webmail without issue (but I only see emails since outage 8th Sept).

I've released and renewed PC IP address.

I have checked and reconfigured to recommended server and port settings but gain no connection for either POP or IMAP.

Using Diagnosing email server connectivity issues tool I seem to be gaining a connection.

Re: Thunderbird not Connecting to PN Server

What version of Thunderbird?

What environment (and version)?

Which inbound port number is being used?

Please run the email server connection diagnostics - link below.

Re: Thunderbird not Connecting to PN Server

Fix

I've fixed by downloading the latest Thunderbird client and applying PN's recommended server and port settings again. Webmail uses the straight username and password so this was repeated in the Thunderbird settings. It seems a variation of username worked in the past but the PN server stopped accepting this early September. So, in short, starting afresh with Thunderbird gained success.
