The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

I'm tearing what's left of hair out.

Since the migration of my mailboxes to Greenby is been a nightmare.

I am in the middle of selling my late fathers flat and getting so stressed about this.

I either get the following failure message when sending and receiving from Outlook 2019 :

Task ’xxxxx@xxxxxx.plus.com - Receiving’ reported error (0x800CCC0F) : ’The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).’

OR

the Outlook 2019 dialogue box with the login details asking me to conform them - which In do but with no success.

It works intermittently but that is no good.

I've  been on to Plusnet support and whilst the Greenby logon says to use username or email address the email address login DOESN'T WORK, so now I can successfully logon to Greenby. However Plusnet support say that they have no further responsibility for these problems as I have been migrated.

My view on this is that until the migration is 100% successful, Plusnet have a duty of care to liaise with Greenby to sort out any post migration issues.

Greenby are supposed to call the customer back if requested but they say they can't do this as they are too busy - I have raised a ticket but do not expect a swift response, if at all. I cannot locate the chat service on the Greenby website either so have they disabled that as well as callbacks?

This migration is a total disaster from my point of view and I hold Plusnet responsible for agreeing with Greenby to take the email on when they clearly do not have the capacity to deal with the problems that have been created by a clearly flawed migration process.

In addition when my email did work, I started getting the error 554 - emails rejected due to being spam - to BTInternet addresses again. This was at least partially fixed under Plusnet.

Please can someone help me get this sorted.

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

You are not alone, as most Plusnet email users have had lost of issues since the migration to Greenby and Greenby Customer Service is nonexistent.

There doesn't appear to be any quick solution, other than moving to another email provider ASAP !

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

Hi Tony,

Unfortunately the problem persists :

I got this just now  :

Task ’<redacted>@<redacted>.plus.com - Receiving’ reported error (0x800CCC0F) : ’The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).’

What are you doing regarding the  complete lack of support from Greenby?

And I'm also still getting error 554 with my emails to a BTInternet mailbox bouncing.

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

Thanks for getting back. It seems your issue is not related to the recent problem.

When did the issue start for you?

Can you try webmail.plus.net just to see if that works?

We're working with Greenby, and I can raise a support request for you once we have some more information.

The 554 error message is something we can investigate once we've got access to your email.

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

Hi Tony,

I have just logged onto webmail.plus.net with my Plusnet username and password and worryingly there a number of emails that I haven't received on my outlook 2019 client.

Can you explain this please as I thought that I had been migrated 100%

Also the fact the I am sharing a username and password with both the Plusnet and Greenby accounts present some sort of security conflict?

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

In terms of webmail, you are still routed via Greenby, and logging onto their servers.

If mail is going in webmail but not come through to Outlook, I can only imagine you are either logged into a different mailbox or the Outlook problem occurred before email was sent. It might be worth resetting up your profile in Outlook to get around the timeout issue you're seeing.

You can change your password at Greenby.com if you like - though outbound SMTP mail will, for now, use your existing password.

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

I need to understand this - although I am using the Plusnet portal which routes through to  the Greenby server - is this correct?

My outlook client is working intermittently and I receive some emails but looking at the webmail, there are emails going back a few days that haven't downloaded.

This isn't a client issue, it relates to Greenby servers. The problems are intermittent and varied - timeouts, requesting username ands password again \and there was another error this morning that I missed getting the details on but it was a different server related error.

If you want me to reconfigure outlook, even though it is intermittent, please advise what server settings I need to use.

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

Throughout today ~ now 3.40 pm ~  I also have been unable to receive any email messages with an interupted internet signal (o*800*CC0F) and instructions to contact my internet provider

Can you help or instruct the way forward.

Also ~ last week and yesterday I received a download of some 60 emails from the last month which I had already RECEIVED, read and dealt with.

How can this happen?---------------------------- I've been with Plusnet since 2012 and have never experienced this before.

Thanks for your help.

Re: The connection to the server was interrupted - post Greenby migration

Hi Tony,

Is there any progress on this as I'm not getting any emails. I can use webmail but I need to store messages in my outlook folders so I know where they are.
