The Old Chestnut : Greenby Email Problems

After 27 years with Force9 (Plusnet) I was migrated to Greenby. The initial couple of weeks were awful but then improved but now they are back to awful again.
I'm still waiting for responses to my tickets regarding missing sent and forwarded mail.
A couple of days ago after not being able to log in to my account a helpful human at Plusnet managed after a few attempts to send me a code to reset my password. Today it is back to square one even with the new and old login details
I think that it is finally time to call it a day and switch to my back up with Gmail.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an email service, free or paid for an individual rather than a commercial entity?

If you don't want to pay then you say you already have a GMail account but you could also get a Microsoft Outlook account. This will work better if you are a Windows Office/M365 user as you will get easier contact, calendar syncing across devices.  Best solution, if you are prepared to pay £20-30 / year, then get a domain name from a provider like Ionos, GoDaddy, etc and couple it with a Domain mail service.  You've then got a personalised email address (like me@mydomainname.co.uk etc) that is independent of ISP provider.

Re: The Old Chestnut : Greenby Email Problems

Thanks for your reply.

I started looking at Ionos and the Basic 5 seems to be a reasonable price including VAT at £1.20 per month for the first year then £3 per month for 2GB.

I can't remember the size limit on my F9 IMAP account but every now and then I was told to free up some space; can anyone remember what the limit was?

The IONOS email comes with a free personal email address which I assume belongs to you so you can take it with you if you decide to leave IONOS email - is this true? Also is there a yearly renewal fee for the domain name even if you are still with IONOS for email?

Mythic beasts crops up on here as company people have suggested. Their email hosting includes unlimited email addresses for chosen domain.

A domain needs to be paid for and renewed. 1yr is minimum but up to 10years is available.
