Spam settings?

We're being spammed to death at the moment. Some phishing, but mostly rubbish USA-related marketing. I don't think we've been migrated yet, certainly haven't been notified.

Could someone please point me to recommended spam settings, i.e. exactly what those settings should be ?

I think I fiddled with the settings some time ago when we were having problems with emails (usually from banks and other genuine organisations) not being delivered.

Your spam settings are available if you sign in to the Plusnet member centre, then go to Manage Account, then Manage your Plusnet Mailboxes, then Spam.

If/When you have migrated, they are (or rather it is) in Greenby.com under Manage your email, then Settings. Note that it does not seem to have the same flexibility as Plusnet, or even work in the same way!

Re: Spam settings?

The Member Centre >> Email >> SPAM settings appear to have Zero impact on the detection of spam.

At the moment even the most egregious spam messages are flooding into our inboxes
they are not marked with [-SPAM-] in the Subject   ( this stopped working weeks ago )
and they are also not marked with X-Spam: Yes in the email header.

Re: Spam settings?

@PhilipHeyes Agreed. The settings to add [SPAM] to the subject (and move to a specified folder or mailbox) are on the Plusnet portal - they do not exist on the Greenby portal.

But I suspect that the Greenby spam 'processing' whatever that is, was also implemented for non-migrated Plusnet emails some time ago.

Certainly we have had hundreds of obvious spam messages, starting September? They are continuing after migration.

Re: Spam settings?

if we turned on the sink taps and filthy water came out that would make the news.

A pity ISPs are not held to the same level of account when they permit floods of obvious garbage into our inboxes.

Re: Spam settings?

Thanks - access via the Plusnet member centre is still working, so am I right in assuming we haven't been migrated yet?

On the other hand, is Greeby a US company?  Most our spam deluge is American advertising.

Re: Spam settings?

@Dalesman No, Greenby is part of the Enix Group, which is a UK company. Most spam originates from the US though, usually from the big players over there.

No - I have been migrated 8 days ago, and I still seem to have access to the Spam settings etc on Plusnet.

Re: Spam settings?

We've also had a whole heap of emails, claiming to be from Plusnet CS, telling us our accounts have been restricted and details need to be confirmed. The link resolves to an amazonaws.com address. I've assumed this is phishing, not related to migration, and have ignored them.
Presumably Plusnet are washing their hands of the current spam and phishing chaos?

Re: Spam settings?

We are also seeing the same scam emails about restricted access.

Those emails are under active investigation.

Re: Spam settings?

The PN scam email represent about 1% of the garbage pouring into our inboxes.

I do hope the almost total failure to detect & mark spam messages is receiving far greater attention.
