Spam on Plusnet email

Since the start of this month I have been receiving a lot more spam/phishing emails - has anyone else seen a dramatic increase?

I am still will PlusNet, my expected transfer to Greenland is not until the 9th Feb.  It's very targeted to emails that I have received through my PlusNet email account from legit companies with very specific subject matter.  I also have other email account with other email suppliers and have not had similar spam or phishing on those, it's just my PlusNet emails.

Thanks,

Dave

You just need to browse the list of topics in this forum to see that there are many other people finding the same thing.  If you actually read the topics you'll be disappointed by the lack of clarity from anyone at Plusnet, over even this forum's Superusers, about why this has happened or if it will ever get fixed.

Re: Spam on Plusnet email

The issue of Spam deluges started several months ago when the [-SPAM-] marking stopped working, the Spam settings of the Plusnet email portal remained present but now have zero effect on the detection / marking of any spam messages.

Looking at the email headers aka source, there does appear to be some kind of new spam filter in place but whoever is responsible for it needs a awake up call as even the most obvious spam message come pouring in and fail to be identified with X-Spam: Yes in the email header.

Your comment about Greenland might be excellent advice, perhaps they have an ISP / email provider with a spam detection filter that works.

Re: Spam on Plusnet email

@Bustermagic1  I've been getting non-stop junk since about the beginning of November.

Plusnet seem to have washed their hands of it and have apparently done nothing to continue to provide the service they used to provide and for which we've been paying for all this time.

Once my email has moved to Greenland, why on earth should I continue to pay for broadband provided by Plusnet (I've been with them for over 20 years) when they clearly don't care about their customers ?

"Greenland"? Crikey! Could our email be in even greater jeopardy than we realised? 🤣
