Seem to be unable to turn off spam filters

Having migrated over to Greenby I seem to be having an ongoing issue with messages being sent to the spam folder.

I am currently using Thunderbird and pop3, as I found imap can take ages to update when there are a large number of messages.

I have tried to turn off ALL spam filtering as I would like Thunderbird to handle that.

I now check the emails using the web interface and have found that a number of emails end up in the spam/junk folder.
Pop3 interface does not see the spam folder only those messages in the inbox.

Despite many conversations with Greenby support and turning off the spam filters it seems to make little difference.

Anyone found a way of turning off the greenby spam filters ?

Re: Seem to be unable to turn off spam filters

With the Greeenby spam filters disabled I have not seen any messages diverted from the inbox.

www.greenby.com >>> email MANAGE >>> Settings >>> Anti Spam OFF

I wish that was working for me Sad

How many email accounts do you have ?

the current issue is with the other half's  email account

I've not go a lot going into my account or the default account for the force9 domain.

also wondered if its a force9 email address problem ?

They changed it to f9 instead of force9 and the new system is using a some magic to make force9 and f9 domains work together 🤔

Re: Seem to be unable to turn off spam filters

@dallday we have 7 email accounts in the style: <name>@<account>.plus.com

An IMAP email client would be capable of moving messages from the Inbox to the Spam/Junk folders.

Re: Seem to be unable to turn off spam filters

well I have a couple of  force9.co.uk email accounts, which were working fine until the switch over.

I had a couple of issues when I found that the <domain>+<user> sign on linked back to the plusnet server and needed to use the full name in the signon e,g,  <user>@<domain>.f9.co.uk

problem is that a lot of the emails are being sent to  <user>@<domain>.force9.co.uk ( the older email address)

but at some point the domain bit was changed to  <user>@<domain>.f9.co.uk

All email is now coming in using  <user>@<domain>.f9.co.uk and so far all looks good but we will need a few days to confirm it has stopped the spam filter.

Re: Seem to be unable to turn off spam filters

I do belt and braces .. I've my normal pop3 account and I set up a parallel imap account in thunderbird so I can easily check th spam folder.

Day to day I use the pop3 but once in a while I click on the imap account to check if anything missed.

I've it setup as I remember to only check when I do that so it's not constantly trying to do the same job.

You just reminded me and I've emails in the spam folder that are valid emails...

(I can't remember if I switched off spam filtering completely but I think I set it to the lowest level?).
