Plusnet email with Greenby will cost £12.50 a month!!

I've just been informed that my email address will migrate to a company called Greenby.

It will continue (hopefully as normal) for two years.

Then I will be charged £12.50-a-month to keep it!

I wanted to warn people so they have chance to make any necessary changes.

I've been with Plusnet since 2004 and I've used my plusnet email address in many, many logins.

Now I will start the process of changing them to a free provider like gmail.

Where did you get that figure from ? Its £15/year

At least you get the option of continuing to use the PN address.

The other option was for PN to close down their email service.

They are being provisioned as a basic value brand of the BT Group.

It's actually £15 per year (after two years) at today's prices.

This thread is querying the cost post 2yr period.

Its subtle but both the plusnet page linked above and greenby own help (which has more details) only mention cost to non broadband account holders of £15 per year once 30 days expired. Neither mention cost once 2yr free is up

I think we've just assumed it will be £15 price once 2 yrs are up.

This is the relevant part: 

Will I be charged for the new service?

We have arranged for this service to be free for two years after you have migrated. This will be applicable for all current Plusnet Broadband customers whose email service is linked to an active Plusnet Broadband account. It will become chargeable after this point and Greenby will be in touch with more information on this. If you have any questions in the meantime please get in touch with Greenby.

If you're not a Plusnet Broadband customer, and don't have a broadband service linked to your Plusnet email address, you'll have a 30 day grace period to support the move to Greenby, thereafter it will be chargeable at £15 a year.

Umm... Yes! Interesting point. 

I wonder if either Plusnet or Greenby can provide any more information at present?

I went over to Greenby and ask this question and got this answer:

How much will you charge former Plusnet customers per month after the two-year free period?

Greenby AI:
We don't actually offer a monthly payment plan; instead, the service is charged at £15 per year.
To give you a bit more detail based on your situation:
* If you are an active Plusnet Broadband customer: The service is free for the first two years. After that, you can choose to continue for the £15 annual fee.
* If you are not an active Plusnet Broadband customer: The service costs £15 per year after an initial 30-day period following your migration.
This annual fee covers all your existing mailboxes (with an upgraded 2GB limit) and your personal webspace.

Seems Jenna from Falkirk got it a bit wrong.

They absolutely do have staff in Falkirk answering calls, I have spoken to them at least twice.
