Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

Can you please run the server connection diagnostics as per the link below.

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

Good news and bad news...

I have suffered from occasional 452 errors since early August, which have escalated since 13th September until it only worked in about the first 20 minutes of each hour. From 18:30 today that problem did seem to have been resolved here ... very good news.

However, from about 19:30 sends are again errored, but now with Error 554 avasout-xxx-002 smtp ESMTP server not available (blacklisted by local policy) where xxx is ptp or peh.

It seems I cannot send any emails now!  What has been blacklisted, and why?

I am using relay.force9.net - nothing has changed here this end at all.

That’s a different issue.  Going to need to wait until staff are back in the morning.

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

In case it would help, I have just tried to run your email diagnostics ... but having selected Force9 I saw no prompt, so nothing is copied to clipboard. Using FF v142. The panel underneath shows Brand: Callnetuk

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

In case this helps , I’ve had no 452 errors since PN staff announced optimism they might have resolved the ‘recipients’ issue.

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

Help please !! Unable to send emails since c. 4pm Tuesday afternoon. After reading this thread it appears my email client is set for port 465 (relay.force9.net) When I try to change this, the email client attempts to verify the new settings 587 starttls) but generates the following error:

Couldn't finish
Can't connect to server. a 554 # avasout-peh-002 smtp ESMTP server not available (blacklisted by local policy) ])

What do I need to do ?

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

Further to above message I posted earlier, I'm also unable to send using webmail.plus.net A few seconds after pressing the 'Send now' button I get a red error banner which reads SMTP Error (554): Authentication failed.

I'm now very confused... I understood from earlier messages that port 465 is no longer usable and I need to change to port 587 (which I can't as explained in previous message) but surely webmail is already configured with this new port.

I do have some techie understanding but it's getting horribly outdated as I have been retired over 10 years now. But today I haven't a clue what I am doing wrong. Old age happens to us all at some point.

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

Webmail configuration is not something you need to be concerned about.  There does though appear to be a systems issue (a different one to the too many emails one).

Port settings refers to other email clients and is not a factor in these new issues.

Succinctly users should NOT fiddle with settings to attempt to resolve these issues.  It helps us reports of problems clearly identify identify…

Email brand

Method of authentication - email address / account name / none

Default or secondary mailbox

I'm afraid the email diagnostics dont work with Firefox , there's a note in the details whoich makes that clear. Do you have another browser to check with ?

Sorry, missed that. Managed to use Edge to copy to clipboard, and pasted into Powershell.

It then asks to enter host password for user ... but that does not display characters entered, or allow paste into it. I have a 24-character random secure password that is impossible to type blind with any certainty that it is correct - is there a parm of curl I could add to the commands?

Re: Can't send Email to the same address too often

Not displaying characters, not pasting are security features of cURL and the terminal window.  You need to type them.

You could try right click of the mouse and then press enter.
