Problems sending email from personal domain

I have a personal domain zzzzz.me.uk hosted with another provider.

I have just stopped using their hosting services and so I've redirected my mailboxes to my plusnet mailboxes, this works fine.

However I am having problems sending email, the outlook test messages work fine as do messages to other users on my domain. However messages to gmail and other domains (I don't know if all are affected) get rejected. An example details file contains:

Reporting-MTA: dns; avasout-ptp-001 [84.93.230.227]
Received-From-MTA: dns; DESKTOPBRGAFF7 [87.115.97.203]
Arrival-Date: Tue, 28 Feb 2023 11:12:13 +0000

Final-recipient: rfc822; xxx@gmail.com
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550-5.7.26 The MAIL FROM domain [zzzzz.me.uk] has an SPF record with a hard

I am using relay.plus.net and port 587 (previously used 25 as well)

What do I need to do to get this working?

Thanks

Re: Problems sending email from personal domain

Fix

@philipg2 your domain has an SPF record that specifies your previous hosting service as being the only mail server from which you can send. You need to change the SPF record to permit sending via the Plusnet mail servers.

It needs to be

v=spf1 a mx include:_spf-internal.plus.net include:_spf-internal2.plus.net ~all

There is the potential for a further hurdle here - does your forwarding service use SRS?  If not there is some possibility that SPF rule checking on INBOUND emails could be compromised.

Where a sender has SPF specified for their domain and a forwarded to receiver strictly enforces the same, if the middle-man forwarding service does not implement SRS, then the end receiver will "see" the email as having come from a SMTP server which is not approved for the sender's email domain.
