Problems With Old Freenetname Webmail

Hi,

I signed up with Freenetname many many years ago, which was absorbed my Madasafish and ultimately became Plusnet for my webmail service a few years ago.

For several months now, when logging into the Webmail service, the sign in page has been displaying the message :-

"Please be aware that Webmail may be slower than usual while migrations are in progress.

We have temporarily disabled the sort function, there is no need to contact us."

In addition, I have found that when trying to send e-mails, I regularly get the message immediately on sending :-

"     This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently:

   * xxxxxx@outlook.com

Reason: A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server ?? responded with: ** xxxxxx@outlook.com ??:?? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server ."

I am able to reply to certain emails that i receive, but many fail and I have had to rely on other methods to send any new e-mails out.

Any ideas on this issue and is the migration the cause?

TIA

Mike

Re: Problems With Old Freenetname Webmail

Hi Mike,

All of Plusnet's email services are being migrated to Greenby in phases as well documented herein.  To the best of my knowledge, the Freenetname brand has not yet entered the migration programme.

The challenges sending to Microsoft provided email users is an entirely different matter: Microsoft has implemented various draconian measures, some as widely reported are clearly flawed / suspect.  Plusnet is but one of many providers blighted by this issue.

@plusnettony - are there any updates on this please?

Re: Problems With Old Freenetname Webmail

I have an old (20+years old) Hotmail email address that I use mainly for a Microsoft account and those websites that demand an email to get rid of the nag screens. Problem is,  a lot of sites refuse to accept Hotmail addresses. I'm not sure if that's because they used to be so easy to create in the past or because of Microsoft's anti-apam measures,
