Plusnet email

Hello all,

I received an email letting me know that there will be changes to the Plusnet email address.

It states "[email protected]" I was not aware of that address and have never used it so I assume I should just let it lapse?

I do have an email address "[email protected]" or maybe that was for when I had Broadband? I am now

on Fibre so that email address may no longer exist.

Any help would be appreciated.

@greengrass

Whilst that may LOOK like an email address, it isnt! Its the credentials used in your router to make your internet connection. Its actually just consists of your accountname suffixed with the @plusdsl.net.

t states "[email protected]" I was not aware of that address and have never used it so I assume I should just let it lapse?

Up until around two years ago, Plusnet broadband accounts had a <account>.plus.com email facility. Accounts opened before then still retain that facility and it is that which is changing.

There is a contact email address on your Plusnet broadband account and informatory emails are sent to that and, if the account has an <account>.plus.com email , to that address as well.

If you are going to let the plus.com email lapse, you need to check that your contact email is set to another valid email address

Re: Plusnet email

@greengrass I am assuming that message was to inform you that the email service is being transferred to Greenby. It sounds like you don't use the PN  mail service, so, effectively, you can ignore it.

The '[email protected]' is not an email address, it is the 'connection address' used to connect you to the PN  network.

Re: Plusnet email

Thank-you all for the replies.

PhilipHayes, I clicked the link and there are 2 entries in "Summary". A mailbox and an alias which I can delete, should I?

The other boxes "Mailboxes, Aliases, Redirects, Spam, Catchall" are all empty.

MisterW, thanks for explaining that myname@plusdsl,net is not an email address.

Plusnet sends me these information emails and bills to a Gmail address.

Jab1, yes the email was to inform me that Greenby will be taking over from November 2026.

Re: Plusnet email

If I was a Plusnet internet customer in the same position I'd leave the mail accounts alone and have them migrate to Greenby where you will get two years free and the ability to cancel at any time.

You might take a different view and  E.g. I was not aware of this email a/c until now and I do not require it.
