Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Hi, I've just found this thread when looking for info on a spam email asking me to verify my Plusnet account.

Can I ask for help please.

I've received no notification of the change in Plusnet's email service. I currently use three email addresses of the AName@AccountUsername.plus.com from a previous (long time ago) broadband account with Plusnet. My broadband is not with Plusnet currently.

What is going to happen to them?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

The .plus.com cohort hasn't started the move yet. Once it does then you will receive communication. If you don't have broadband with Plusnet , then if you wish to keep your email when it moves, the you will have to pay £15/yr

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Any idea when emails might start going out? Who gets the two years free after being moved? Thanks.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

I'm not privy to the timescales I'm afraid. The two years free applies to people with a Plusnet broadband account.

Have you found the FAQ?  That covers most questions to which there are answers available.

If it's the one that links from the email that someone else linked to, then I tried but slipped into unconsciousness.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Has anyone had any correspondence from Greenby in respect of the migration of Metronet email addresses. Since the emails of May advising of the changeover to Greenby, I have received nothing.

I have in the last couple of days noticed that there have been two periods where my Metronet email account has effectively gone offline. No emails received or emails sent not getting through. No error messages from Outlook when sending/ receiving all folders.

On the first occasion when back online a number of emails came through including the test messages, I was sending myself.

It’s now back online although the test messages I was sending myself on the second occasion have not come though so I am assuming that any other emails that were sent to me in this time have been lost or are not going to come through. There were no error messages from Outlook when sending/ receiving all folders. I was assuming that this activity in both cases was Plusnet migrating the Metronet email addresses to Greenby.

Rick

I am on metronet mail and have had nothing yet from greenby or plusnet on the progress of the migration. I note that you say that you are using outlook client. Are you using smtp/pop3 or smtp/imap? my pop3 which feeds into a pst does not work currently and am having to use webmail. If pop and working can you let me know your settings for connecting. Many thanks Stephen

Many Thanks Townman for the 'link'.

That did the the trick. I had not realised that the buttons under you signature did stuff.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Hi, Slightly skewed question re: move to Greenby and I may have the wrong end of the stick here, but there has been, in several posts, oblique references to the fact that once the move to Greenby is complete then this Plusnet forum will, as it stand now wll cease to exist, Whether this forum will of itself move to a Greenby domain or stay on its present Plusnet domain or vanish is not at all clear from what information I can find myself. I am sure that the clarification of this will be of interest to many others in the community,

The Plusnet forum will continue to exist, as it covers  many topics , not just email. Formal support for email will obviously move to Greenby and, if similar to their other brands e.g Ecohosting, will be by 'ticket'. However, there will still be a place for user to user support of email issues on these fora.

Where have you seen reference to this board closing?
