Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

@plusnettony I've tried logging in to some of the account details that I hold passwords for via Google, but I don't know what I'm looking for or why I'm doing it. Sad

The oldest email addresses might well have a postmaster account linked to them but I can't access it if so. I hold two or three email addresses from way back when Plusnet still allowed customers to keep their email addresses when they moved to another ISP.

They must be circa 25? years old, I'm very keen to keep the (main) myname@username.plus.net email but how will I know when they might be being offered for migration?

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

After receiving the PlusNet email of your account being migrated how long does it take for Greenby to advise that you can log into your Greenby account?
Apologies if this has been answered in another thread.

@Townman @plusnettony

Can I assume that since I got the first PlusNet email about my Greenby migration a few days ago the earliest I can expect the Greenby welcome email will be mid-November?

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

If you've got an email from Greenby to confirm transfer, you'll be able to use them straight away.

If you've got "you're moving email" message, about 60 days later.

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

Just received the email re transfer of email accounts to Greenby. I'm afraid I find this rather hard to comprehend in technical terms. Is it naive of me to suggest that I transfer to a gmail account that I already have? I think I know the answer but I'd like to know in plain English why that is not possible.

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

@queenie7

You can arrange for whomever to send their emails sent to you, to which ever email address you prefer - the one(s) provided by Plusnet or one with another provider, such as you@gmail.com.

Your mail service provided by Plusnet is being migrated to Greenby's hosting platforms; everything will work the same as it does now.

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

I am the Plusnet account owner but I have no comms whatsoever from Plusnet about this move. There are no comms in username@username.plus.com or my mailbox mymailbox@Username.plus.com. My mailbox was the first created when I opened the account. My external contact email was changed earlier this year (May) and the automated emails about the total mailbox size being over 75% have been arriving in my new external contact address but there are no emails about the Greenby move.

My husband received an email early October to his Plusnet mailbox hismailbox@Username.plus.com about the move. He has no knowledge of the account / domain hosting / email so should not have been sent the email. The email he received said all changes to servers had to be made before 31st October. So I assume this means my account is going to be migrated soon?

When googling Greenby, there is only one page found which is extremely worrying as it suggests it isn’t a large organisation supporting a million customers. And other than the linked FAQs, which don’t give any informative details, there is no further information available.

@cassuki no it doesn't. Some email clients have been connecting to the servers using slightly wrong details. They work currently, but when the account is migrated they will stop working. So people with connections that appear non-standard have been notified that their settings MAY be wrong and should be corrected prior to migration. The reason your husband received the email and not you, is that its the email address he uses that appears to be connecting with the wrong details.

When your account is scheduled for migration ( .plus.com addresses havent started yet!) you, as the account holder, will get the notification.

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

Thanks. Just to be clear - if I delete my alias email ( ie. my Plusnet email address) in the Manage My Mail Summary box and just use my gmail account then I will have no contact with Greenby once I tell them not to transfer me. Is this correct?

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

I posted a reply to you yesterday which said I wanted to use my gmail account for all communications with Plusnet. I do not use my Plusnet email at all except when i reply to one of its messages. So, again, could you tell me whether or not I can ditch my Plusnet addresses in the Manage Email section of the website.

Thank you

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

You cannot ditch your Plusnet email address in the manner you describe.

You can change your Plusnet CONTACT email address on the ACCOUNT in the user portal (see Manage Account | Member Centre | Plusnet) and you can change your FORUM email address here - My settings - Plusnet Community

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

IIf you no longer wish to use any Plusnet email addresses, the you will need to ensure that the contact email on your PLusnet account is set to an alternative i.e your gmail address

Re: Plus.com now moving to Greenby

I have checked the member centre and the only address I see there is my gmail address. So how do i get rid of the Plusnet addresses listed in the Manage my Email section - do I just delete them?
