Actually, I may be having problems with incoming mail. Although Thunderbird does not give any errors when checking my mailbox by POP, incoming mail (eg sent from GMail) is not arriving there.

Just seen the same, POP3 worked, SMTP Credentials rejected.

I am not going to say it is 'fixed' , but at least I'm not getting 'login failures', and appears the servers are responding after fashion, so we'll see what tomorrow brings. It would be good if it didn't take four attempts to get onto the incoming server every morning.

Seems to be working again...
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

@melmerby Your problem is not related to this topic, but there are a number of others on this board which may be useful.

Hi everyone,
This is being looked into, and we will let you know once we have more information.
Leanne.
Do you have any more, other than what has been posted since your reply?

Why is it not related to this topic?
Others are also reporting SMTP authentication problems when trying to send.

Because this is about the total failure of the system, not your specific issue, which, as I said, is not related to individual problems which are covered elsewhere and would get more attention if reported on a relevant topic.

There seems to be a series of faults. one moment you can't login then you get in but can't send emails (imap prob) then you can send but not receive. 25 years ago I was training people to set-up and manage email servers and I cannot understand how they can have a problem that is so intermittent but where you never know which part will fail next.
And for that matter why am I getting a accept cookie request on this site at every page refresh or is it just my browser?
