Changed password as you suggested but still unable to log into POP3 incoming server. Can still send email though and can log into Member Centre and Webmail.

Is there anything useful being seen in the server logs?
Is an mail component rebuild appropriate here?
A passing thought, can you please try this variant of the diagnostic command...
curl.exe -v --resolve "mail.plus.net:995:212.159.9.81" pop3s://mail.plus.net -u 'account:password'
If this works, it should help Tony narrow the scope of where to look for the source of the issue.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

I've checked the account, all works fine.
I've "logged in" (I can only see the number of emails, date stamp and size), all ok.
You can access via webmail.
This all points to Outlook.
I've not been able to replicate the issue @Townman mentioned, albeit trying on PN.
I am trying to find logs now.

Thanks for your efforts but still unable to log in to the mail server. User name and password rejected.
By the way I used % in my password as ! and @ were not among the special characters suggested by the system as I was typing the password.

I've got this on escalation now ... can you managed to get by with the webmail interface whilst tech support do a deep dive on the issue? This is heading for the twilight zone!
Clutching at straws, do you have only one computer? If you have another, could you please try the diagnostic command on that please?

Webmail uses IMAP whereas the Outlook configuration is using POP3. Given that the POP3 cURL diagnostic command also fails, would that suggest we can rule out a mail client contribution?

I tried the diagnostic on a laptop. Same result: Log in denied.

For me that strongly suggests an account / POP3 server issue.

I am fairly sure i have the same problem, I'm pop3, with my two secondary emails, primary works fine 2 secondaries unable to login

Hurray! Outlook receiving email again after changing the email address on the log in prompt to just my user name. Thanks to CMT in another thread who discovered the trick with Windows Mail.

The puzzling thing is that while Outlook now picks up incoming mail the diagnostic still cannot connect to the PlusNet POP3 server.

Is that with the diagnostic using your account name?
I thought we had tried that before in Outlook with no success?
Is outlook using POP3 or IMAP?
