Opt-out from email migration not worked?

Hi,
I opted-out from the email migration to Greeby back in January 2026. The email from Plusnet said the email account would be closed by 27th Feb 2026 but this didn’t happen!
Will my Plusnet email ever get deleted?

I’m hoping that someone with access to the system can shed some light on this please.

Thanks,
Jason

If your email has migrated to Greenby via www.greenby.com you can disable or delete any mailbox & can cancel the greenby service.

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

Thanks. I’ve just checked Greenby and my account isn’t recognised, so I’m assuming it hasn’t migrated (didn’t want it to anyway!). Haven’t had any correspondence since the original email from Plusnet either.

Cheers,
Jason

Login to www.greenby.com with the same Credential as for the Plusnet Members Center.

If you have not been migrated the Plusnet email admin is at :

https://www.plus.net/manage_my_mail/

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

@PhilipHeyes If @JH6 's credentials have not been recognised by Greenby, he hasn't been migrated  full stop. The stopping/closing of the PN mail accounts is haphazard, to put it politely.

@JH6 Are you using a third-party mail service alongside the PN one?

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

Thanks both for your input. @PhilipHeyes yep I used my Plusnet login details. The Plusnet email admin link doesn’t let me delete the account.

@jab1 I do use a couple of other email providers. The email Plusnet has for my broadband account is with one of them.

Cheers
Jason.

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

So, @JH6 , you do not use your PN address at all? In which case, just ignore it. Do you use an email client?

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

Hello @jab1 Nope don't use it at all.

I could ignore it but it bugs me that it still exists, especially as they said they'd delete it more than 5 months ago.

I do use a client, and yes I could just remove it from that, but as I say, it bothers me that it's still 'out there'!

Do you know if Plusnet staff lurk on these forums at all? - would be handy if they did and could press the big delete button behind the scenes!

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

@JH6 Unfortunately, the 'Plusnet' staff who very occasionally visit these  forums are actually BT Consumer staff - they cover the PN/EE/BT forums, and have no ability to do what you want.

If you delete it from the client, you won't need to worry about it. Do you get any mail at all on it - even spam?

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

That's a shame.

Believe it or not I don't get any spam to that address!

I guess Plusnet will get round to doing as they say and remove it from their system; would be nice if they could let me know when, as we're way past their own deadline!  hey-ho.

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

@JH6  This sounds very similar to my experience after opting out and nothing happening. Given various dates for the account to be deleted and it wasn't. Have a look at this thread.....

Email account deletion

Hopefully @plusnettony can sort it for you.😁

Re: Opt-out from email migration not worked?

Hi - I can indeed.

I've created ticket 256427782 on your account for immediate closure of email. Please reply online and I'll action straight away. Should you not want to do this, the email would be closed in due course for those opted out.
