The notification I received from Plusnet concerning the forthcoming migration to Greenby was sent to my default email address (postmaster@c [Removed] but referred to changes to my Plusnet email c[Removed]@c[Removed].plus.com. which did not exist.
I have recently created the email address [Removed]but received an email from Plusnet saying that anything sent to my default email address would, in future, be redirected to the new email address [Removed].
Looking at Manage My Mail, the new email address seems to have been created as an Alias of my default email address. To ensure that my default email address is the main one when migrating to Greenby would it be OK to delete the Alias and would this leave my default email address unaffected.
Apologies if the above shows ignorance about email addresses and Mailboxes but I am becoming paranoid about potential problems when migration occurs. All my incoming/outgoing emails are received/sent via my default email address and I would like this to remain the case when migration occurs.
Many thanks in advance for any assistance/advice.

Hi Colin,
Sounds as though you have been around here for a very long time!!
IIRC postmaster@ used to be the default mailbox. The account@account.plus.com became the default.
I suspect that if there is not a mailbox of the current default one is being created and the current default is being made an alias of it. You can change the alias as you please - indeed you could remove the alias and then use that name as a real mailbox.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Many thanks for the speedy reply Townman.
I've been with Plusnet since 2003. I moved to Virgin Media in 2017 when I could no longer put up with a max of 2Mbps via BT Openreach. However, I retained and paid for Plusnet Mail, which became free on 1st September 2018. I have used postmaster@ ever since with Thunderbird as my email client.
My postmaster@ default mailbox has worked performed perfectly all this time and is the address everyone (friends, family, banks, HMRC, merchants etc etc) uses to communicate with me, and from which I send the vast majority of my emails. It is the email address I am desperate to maintain for pure convenience.
I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure I understand what you say. You seem to be suggesting that Plusnet has unilaterally created a new default email address/mailbox for me and that the postmaster@ is now an alias of account@account.plus.com to which all emails will be redirected and presumably from which my emails will have to be sent? I'm afraid I don't understand you when you say that I can change the alias as I please and that I could remove the alias and use that name as a real mailbox.
What if anything can I do to retain postmaster@account.plus.com as my default email address/mailbox when the migration to Greenby occurs? I do hope to this is possible and that I don't have to resort to finding a new email host.
Looking forward to some clarification.
Regards,
Colin
