Migration: Correction Email appears to be in error!

I just got an email on Friday 04 September 2026 telling me that a previous email (25 August 2026) was in error and that I would now have to pay to continue to receive emails from my madasafish services because I do not get broadband from Plusnet.

I have, in fact, been getting broadband from Plusnet for more years than I care to remember.

Could anyone confirm that I do have broadband with Plusnet and that I will still have to pay for my email services once they are migrated? And then explain why?

Thanks

@Anywho   A couple of questions - firstly, who was the 04/09/26 e-mail from - PN or greenby (?)

Secondly, is there any possibility that it was a scam e-mail, ie not actually from either party, whilst pretending to be.

If it was a genuine e-mail, and from PN, then @plusnettony might be the best person to resolve things, but equally not, if either of the other two options apply.

If you have a current account with Plusnet as an ISP, then you certainly don't have to pay for an existing Plusnet email address transferred to Greenby, for the first two years.

I am uncertain about a Madasafish email account. Though, as Madasafish was taken over by Plusnet, I would have thought the same conditions applied. I think you need to contact Plusnet directly.

It seems the accounts didn't match up for some reason.

Once migration has happened, if you'd PM me both usernames, I'll check it manually and add the two years for you.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye open and try and remember the usernames!!

@Penny Probably too late now, but that email was from "[email protected]" and the message headers looked genuine to my eye.

@pvmb hehe, I was being somewhat facetious... you yourself have helped me on the boards over the years Smiley I am definitely a Plusnet customer! I was paying madasafish (after they took over Totalise where I held free and bought shares that I didn't sell on the boom!!) for "email only" (£12 a year or something I think?) when Plusnet took over and I remember being pleasantly surprised when Plusnet said they would take it over for free all those years ago.

Thanks all.
