Re: Mail migration for hosted domain name

Usually the transfer completes within the 5 days. The transfer request has to be actioned by the NetOps team who are not customer facing and hence the email request.

Now the transfer request has been accepted, if you haven't already, then login to your MB account and select the 'Transfer in'. Then keep an eye on the transfer status ( I can't remember if MB send a notification when it completes! ).

Re: Mail migration for hosted domain name

Hi @Townman,

As far as I'm aware these types of requests have always gone via Netops with a 5 day turnaround, but I'll ask around in case there is a way to speed up the process. Smiley

@James_B if you need some ammunition , then you might ask how the current system complies with Nominets Obligations for UK Registrars https://registrars.nominet.uk/uk-namespace/registrar-agreement/registrar-obligations/

Particularly this requirement in the Customer Service obligations

Act promptly on a reasonable request from registrants to makes changes to their domain names

Hi James,

Indeed in your time, that would be your experience.

In the not so distant past, in the years of the Grey Wizard, most of the forum team could kick off an email archive restore ... and those capable of doing the other bits n bobs, lurked in these corridors and a 5 day turnaround was not "a thing".

Re: Mail migration for hosted domain name

@Townman - I've checked in with the Wizard and the system they used for archive restores is now obsolete, hence the change in process.

I'll continue to explore opportunities to speed up the process though.

James

Re: Mail migration for hosted domain name

@James_B

Thank you: Ah the dreaded process “improvements” which place the tools in half the hands and take twice as long.

These tasks are often time critical and where requests fail or get overlooked, the need to tread the same path more than once can markedly expand the timeline for delivering the solution.  At one time the proposal for the new process to restore an archive was going to be customer self request via the user portal.

But I guess that’s a characteristic of being truly British - we know how to stand patiently in line Awaiting our turn for our case to be passed to another queue.  We’ve had lots of practice!!

I drift off the topic - though I hope your representations might bring about a shortening of the wait chain.

Re: Mail migration for hosted domain name

Hi all

A quick update.  More than 5 working days and still no transfer of the domain name from Plusnet.  Called up this afternoon and they 'are hoping that it will be done by the weekend'.  Pointed out the Nominet expectations on reasonable service, etc.  Deaf ears.  I'm not sure what levels of customer service they set but rock bottom seems to be the target.

@PeterC3PO I'd suggest raising a complaint. It shouldn't take this long for a simple change like this.

@Katie_B

For the edification of others having similar needs, it would be very helpful if in responses such as this, if the team can specify the information required via the PM.

That would enable users to submit the information you require as a single touch engagement, avoiding the ask, wait, send PM, acknowledge, wait … interaction.

Hi @Townman

The reason why I have reached out to this one user is I would like to check the relevant account details match those on the ticket to rule our any errors that might have caused the delay.
