I've recieved an email from Plusnet on 2-9-26 indicating that freenetname legacy emails will start to be transfered from 3-10-26.
As my broadband package ends on 31-10-26, i phoned Plusnet today to ask if my current 24 month contract could roll over monthly at the same monthly price to accomodate the handover to Greenby where there's no gaurantee my email will migrate within my current contract end date.
Billings were clueless about legacy emails and said their system shows my email is migrated. Tech Support were also out in the cold, suggesting my current legacy email was associated with another non Plusnet broadband account they couldn't identify and then shifting to if a change in postcode has occured (it has not) and then saying they can see the email but not what it's assoicated with so can't help me.
My own Plusent account still shows my legacy email in account details. Both Billings and Tech Support said they would be able to roll over my current charges on a monthly basis provided they can see that my legacy email is run by Plusnet. Without that , they were unwilling to retain the current pricing and i face a near £10 increase per month to manage this option. How can i sort this issue if the Plusnet staff team are not aware and their system doesn't show the email details , while my own Plusnet account does as does my Plusent Webmail ?
Can any staff here help smooth this out for me at all ?
Cheers
DT London.

Freenetname has not started migration.
I can envisage room for easy confusion with support. Freenetname users were moved to Plusnet for their internet service, whilst retaining the freenetname service for email. It is quite likely that the PLUSNET ACCOUNT also had an associated email service which is highly likely to have been migrated, hence "their system shows my email is migrated".
The association of legacy email service with current Plusnet broadband services is a loose inferred association which had a massive level of effort applied. Certainly that associative information is available to the migration team.
@plusnettony are you able to assist here, notably with "...provided they can see that my legacy email is run by Plusnet". If they can be guided to the light, @snaz should be able to get what they have been promised.

Freenetname is totally independent of your Plusnet, so if you only use a freenetname email address (and not Plus.com) you have nothing to worry about, and the transfer will happen when it happens irrelevant of your Plusnet broadband account.
I can check the two accounts tomorrow, to ensure the two free years are applied, but I may have to apply that post migration if it's not already done.

Further to the above, I've found your FNN accounts. Due to the spelling and formatting of your name and post code, they are not likely to be matched. I've raised a ticket on the FNN account to match these AFTER transfer to Greenby. Your initial welcome email may therefore say free for 30 days, but we'll fix that.
Just to confirm, your Plusnet email has already moved.

Hi all respondees,
1. Thanks - iI all this input helps to get things sorted. Not sure what "FNN accounts: Due to the spelling and formatting of your name and post code" mismatches mean or why they occur - so reliant on your raised ticket.
2. FYI - see attached screen grabs: - Greenby are confirming that legacy emails are being subject to a 30 day free access only. ALSO - the Plusnet migration notice email (see 2 below) stated: "Once migrtaed into Greenby, you will have the service free of charge for 30 days. You will then be asked to pay the £15 inc VAT per year for your email service. Your domain will be chargeable, and Greenby will confirm the cost. "
QUESTION: Is someone saying in this ticket thread you can get this changed to a 2 year free access ??
3. Plusnet email recieved 02-09-2026, concerning migration of legacy states the following:
i) "This email relates to the transfer of [email protected] only......"We will begin transferring mailboxes from 03-10-2026."
ii) "you may need to make a change to how you log in."
QUESTION: Does this qyestion relate to how i log into Plusnet webmail OR Plusnet main user account or something else ?
Thanks for keeping track of this - if you can let me know final confirmation of any enquiries - what to expect
Cheers . Appreicated 👍

Essentially, if you have PN broadband, your email will be free for two years. If there is any sort of data mismatch and you've only been given 30 days free, let me know once the FNN account is migrated and I will correct it for you. I just need a PM with both usernames.

Hi
Thanks - do you need that PM with my usernames from me and if so is it now ? If so i can't seem to see how to do that if you can advise ?
I note Greenby again today indicated in current live ticket an annual £22 charge after 30 days, so i'm going with what you say here ..... see screen grab
Also to add - once my email migrates into Greenby - i will seek to transfer my broadband service to BT Essentials option 2 (with phone utlity, Voice) as i qualify for that discounted service. But i've been advised to wait until the email migrates to Greenby before doing that other-wise i risk losing the legacy PN email @FNN. So i'm going to have to go into monthly roll-over PN broanband from 31-10, the date my current PN broadband contract ends. So i believe, based on what you are now saying that only at the point i switch to sister service at BT, that's when Greenby should then start to charge FNN email services after a 30 days free period. Is this the case, or are you saying not ?
Thanks for your attention resolving this matter

Click on Tony's forum name (plusnettony) in pink on one of his posts. That brings up a screen of his profile and to the rhs there is a 'Send private message' link

@snaz You appear to have some odd negative screen with a dark background, the "Send Private Message" link is white text so will not show on your screen. Note that "Contact Me" Shows as white text on your display, it's actually black text on a pale background.
