If you're using Plusnet's relay servers, this is something that (currently) needs to be raised our way rather than to Greenby. However, we're aware of the ongoing problems and network engineers have been investigating.

The above is not the best route to raise a complaint

Use https://www.plus.net/member-centre/complaint-form .. but as I say, it's been actively looked at and the complaint guys can't fix this any quicker.

I've had this problem for several weeks - still unresolved. Email address is [Removed]@[Removed].co.uk

Please fix!

Re: Hotmail rejecting mail from PN [Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.1]

@plusnettony We have only just discovered that email we send to hotmail addresses has not been delivered (possibly for a couple of months? we were migrated late last year) but we don't get any rejection email or error code. Is that part of this issue or a separate problem?

You need to redacted your address ASAP.  Unless you want it to be picked up and used to deliver spam to your inbox.

@balvack2

Are you sure the rejection emails aren't piled up in a Spam folder?

I sent an email message to a Hotmail email recipient today, via Greenby Roundcube webmail, and it was received and replied to.

Re: Hotmail rejecting mail from PN [Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.1]

I am now totally fed up and disillusioned with Greenby, in the same way that I was with Plusnet, in relation to the lack of a resolution to problems sending e-mails to Microsoft domain accounts and iCloud accounts as a result of Issues with anti-spam settings and now bounce-backs with the following:

Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list (S3150)

Having logged support tickets with Greenby, I am not obtaining any traction with resolution and last update to a ticket concerning the problem contained, from their AI Bot:

Hi xxxx, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble sending emails to Outlook and iCloud addresses.

To help me look into this further, could you please provide your email address and confirm which ISP you are with (e.g., Plusnet, Force9, etc.)?

Regarding the delivery failures you're experiencing:

We're aware of issues with delivery, either emails going into spam, or delivery issues to iCloud or other providers relating to DKIM. This also affects some Outlook.com addresses when our mail servers encounter reputation or blocklist filters during this period.

We are working with BT to resolve this as quickly as possible; we are aiming to have this solved within a week, but we cannot be more accurate than this currently.

What on earth is going on? Users of Plusnet/Greenby e-mail services shouldn't be in this position for this length of time where the impact is clearly disrupting our use of e-mail.

Perhaps it's all a calculated strategy on the part of Plusnet/Greenby to force their e-mail users to migrate to the large suppliers of e-mail services (Microsoft, iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo mail?

I don't think it is a 'calculated strategy on the part of Plusnet/Greenby' at all, rather that of M$ and other 'large suppliers' - all U.S. based  - to attempt to dominate the  market. Although I personally don't have the issue, maybe because I don't have any M$ group contacts.

However, I have set up and am using a service from Mythic Beasts to ensure, as far as possible, that I don't encounter the problem. As a point of interest, I have never encountered problems with sending to iCloud or Gmail.

Re: Hotmail rejecting mail from PN [Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.1]

I’ve been with Plusnet since 2012 and , until last year, have used Plusnet /now Greenby email via my MS Outlook account without issues.        I have no other email addresses.

I have seen it suggested that in order to avoid outgoing emails to Hotmail addresses bouncing back (latest earlier today) then all that is necessary is to create and open a separate Hotmail (or Outlook?) email account in order to successfully send emails to Hotmail email addresses

Pending resolution of the existing problem with Greenby, can the temporary solution really be so simple?

Can I simply create  then open  such an account within Outlook and expect success?

That’s what I’ve had to do. The only thing you need to be aware of is Hotmail/Outlook has a robust anti-spam policy. You’ll need to check emails you want to receive haven’t been identified as spam and gradually teach Hotmail/Outlook not to do so.

@abitpedantic Yes.

We had to switch off spam-filtering as lots of legitimate emails were getting put in the Spam folder.

Our emails to hotmail addresses have just disappeared into the ether with no trace...

Re: Hotmail rejecting mail from PN [Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 5.7.1]

Unfortunately I have to add myself to the number of people unable to send to hotmail address.  I've been trying to send an email this morning and have three "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender".  Info in message

Reason: A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server ?? responded with: **............  ??:?? This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server .

I was hoping by the end of the email thread, there would be a solution.  Surely, this can't be difficult to fix given this was first raised as an issue in January?
