Greenby migration is hopless - no email access

they migrated me yesterday

nothing but intermittent access since.

not able to contact anyone at Greenby (or Plusnet ) regarding this poor service.

I can't find any positive revies of Greenby on the internet.

I thought it wouldn't go well and it hasn't

As Plusnet have made a dog's dinner of it i should be allowed to exit my contract without penalties but no.

they can do what the want and we have to accept it.

well as soon as i can get out i will

i now need to set up an alternative email company as Greenby are hopeless.

why did Plusnet choose them.

why stop the email service at all anyway

i assume Plusnet t are about to collapse and be absorbed into BT.

the beginning of the end for Plusnet I assume

they used to be a good company but now....

totally fed up and i have only been migrated to Greenby for one day and most of the time i have had no email

Unfortunately, Plusnet were absorbed into BT a long time ago. 😒

@Mabel You were right to expect hassle but it's often said that 'free' services are worth what you pay for them, and Plusnet mail was always free. Just like BT internet years ago which offered BT Yahoo email then tried to charge £1.50 per month even though it was a playground for half the hackers in Nigeria etc. Plusnet offered what has proved to be excellent BB but I didn't bother with its convoluted email and signed up with an independent instead.

You can get fast and reliable email for the price of a cup of coffee each month, keep your address when you switch provider etc. so why waste time with a 'free' service?

Yes, 'free' in the same sense that a landline and associated number is 'free' and we should all be grateful that we can now switch to a streamlined 'broadband only' service and pay more money for the privilege. Well now it is even more streamlined as they have removed email so presumably this even more streamlined account should cost even more money? Trebles all round.

Sorry, 3 days without any email and counting, makes me grumpy.

Re: Greenby migration is hopless - no email access

When ‘free’ email was first introduced it was more of a novelty addition, all important communications were delivered by the local postie.

Today, roles have reversed and many critical communications come via Email. Considering its importance these days, to my mind the cost (it costs less than £30 p.a. for a portable service with your own domain name and Email hosting) is worth every penny.

Compare the cost and speed with the postal service.

Re: Greenby migration is hopless - no email access

Free - Huh!!!

Part of the Deal if you ask me.

If it wasn't part of the package I would never have signed up to Plusnet in the first place.

Well I have been able to fix my email issues - pointed all my email clients at gmail.

Now works wonderfully - bye bye Greenby

and when my contract with Plusnet is up I will be finding another broadband supplier.

A) Plusnet should have done a better job at finding a reliable email hosing company

    where was the due diligence?

B) they should have stopped migration many many months ago when they realized there was an issue.

But no, they continued with the push knowing they were about to mess a lot of people up.

C) They should have secured another provider.

D) They should have still provided some support instead of stating it's had nothing to do with us speak to Greenby.

They should have supported the customers not ignored them. Good Customer Care.

Unfortunately they have made people think twice about staying with them.

such is life.
