Greenby log-in problems

Intermittent log-in problems with Greenby since last night. Anyone else experiencing it?

Outlook 2019:
Task 'xxxx.plus.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your email server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR internal server error'

Greenby webmail:

...No it isn't! Just checked (via webmail).

You may have experienced one of those transitory failure to connect to the data host. They usually clear in a second or so, in my experience.

Re: Greenby log-in problems

Me too.

Was working fine, now it isn't, both pop3 via outlook desktop and webmail.

First the bot said it was just me, and to change password.

When I refused it put me in a queue to talk to a human, then told me there would be a long wait and they would email me progress update - I gave them my gmail as the genius bot didn't see the irony of emailing me about email not working....

Re: Greenby log-in problems

It is/was going through one of its laggy phases - particularly on Compose/Send.

Is this normal for all email providers or only for Greenby?

The cynical side of me would ask myself how long a company that doesn't have a captive customer base would survive offering this level of service and reliability.

In my experience it wasn't that unusual at one time with the old Plusnet email system - despite other's apparent recollection that it was always a supercharged, 16 cylinder, flawless machine. 😉

And the Plusnet system wasn't undergoing extended transfers from another system at the time. So...

Re: Greenby log-in problems

Mine was working fine last week, but been having intermittent issues collecting emails for the last 24 hours or so... with sign-in pop-ups most of the time, with only occasional email collecting correctly. It is affecting both my laptop and phone (Outlook Classic on Windows, & Outlook for Android). Had been pretty stable for a while, after having these issues repeatedly about 6 months ago.

I suspect that there is a new migration batch underway, and the servers are timing out. Can't easily prove that.

I have found in the past, that clicking Cancel on the Password Sign-in box that pops up, is mostly the best way to deal with it, as it goes away, and automatically tries again itself. Whereas if you try changing the password (to what you know to be correct), it normally fails and doesn't try again until you manage to catch the Server working at the same time you try entering the password again.

Guessing there is not a lot we can do about it, other than grumble that they clearly don't have enough server resources to be running a working email service and an active migration batch at the same time!

Same issue here. I'm with Greenby and use Outlook classic on Windows 11. Lots of password pop-ups and it's struggling to synchronise folders.

Why can't Plusnet or Greenby give us an estimate of when the migration will end? Even a rough guess would help.

"I suspect that there is a new migration batch underway, and the servers are timing out. Can't easily prove that."

That would be my random guess, too. 🙂
