Greenby down?

My emails are not coming through. Is Greenby down again?

Re: Greenby down?

Looks like it. I can't connect from mail client (via POP) on my Mac, OR access directly through webmail.

Re: Greenby down?

Apparently my solicitor has sent an urgent email but it’s not come through. Tried to access through webmail but can’t log in. Is there anything that I can do to access it?

Re: Greenby down?

I haven't been migrated yet, but webmail.plus.net has just lost connection to the mail server as well.

Re: Greenby down?

I opened a ticket on the website and apparently there is an issue and they are working on it.

Yes:

1. Set up an independent email account with e.g. Google or similar (see wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_webmail_providers)

2. Call then to get the email re-sent to the new account.

3. Run away from Plusnet/Greenfail as quick as you can.

4. And consider getting your own domain with your own email account. If you have an "my-name@isp.com" account you are always hostage to your isp.

Re: Greenby down?

I think so. Nothing is coming through, Greenby web site won't connect either. I have left a message on an open ticket with Greenby and despite being told that theye would put me throuigh to an agent, nothing has happened. This is useless. I wish I'd had notice that I was about to be migrated and then I could have taken remedial action.

Re: Greenby down?

Thank you for your help. I have now set up another email account and will move my contacts over as I am planning on ditching Plusnet as soon as possible. Really sad as I have been with F9 for over 22 years but they no longer offer the service that they used to do. Luckily my sister was copied into the email thread so has been able to forward it to my new address so I have seen it now.
Thanks again

Yeah, me too I've just had a load of emails through and our incident team are saying that it should be resolved now.

Re: Greenby down?

@dave It seems to be OK now. Has the root cause be identified and what reassurances can we get from Greenby that this problem won't happen again, given how frequently it seems to occur?

Re: Greenby down?

No provider could give such reassurances.  But as you say, it would be nice to know if they've identified the cause; that they're doing something about it and that it won't happen anywhere near as often.
