Same with me - I get into Greenby Dashboard ok, but when I try to get into my email - nothing happens and I get message: 504 Gateway Time-out - now 8 hours with no connection and I only have Greenby for emails.
On one occasion I got in, but got message: Connection to storage server failed
'Never' had these problems when at Plusnet. So what's going on at Greenby?

Did Plusnet thoroughly research Greenby to make sure it was a reliable and workable platform before all this migration business?

I too today am seeing 504 Errors via the webmail and I only checked via webmail as my usual use of Outlook 2024 was taking a long while to get its emails
It is annoying that Greenby are having issues and if they have a tech issue why don't they have the 'capacity' to have a such an issues on the Greenby portal.
If this is representative of the service level we ex PN email users can expect it does not bode well for the future ![]()
I don't recall ever having anything significant happening pre-migration and over the more than 20 years since I started with PlusNet.
It seems it is only the POP3 not SMTP that is at fault....
I sent a test email via one of my PN mailboxes to my none PN address and that was received AOK very quickly.
PS on another thread about PN email settings the 995 & 587 were IIRC described as standards compliant where 110 & 25 were not!
I noted on the Greenby site that the setting say this:-
Now, I set my POP3 and SMTP respectively a while back to 995 and 587 with security set.
So why the heck was Greenby working and why do they advise the 110 & 25 ports which IIRC do not match what PN advised to use....which I set mine to as mentioned.
Fingers crossed that Greenby sort this out in a timely manner 🙃

Hi @James_B
I wonder if you might have insight of this problem?
FWIW
I have been getting some emails to a few of my mailboxes but not all of them.
My check a few minutes ago still had errors reported but to (thankfully) only different mailboxes of the 8 in use by me:-
0xC800CCC0F
0x800ccc92
As noted in my earlier post, all had been AOK and as I am not the only having these issues.....an explanation and timeframe of a fix would be welcome.
NB I hope you are able to throw some light on the issue.................as I doubt I will get an answer anytime soon from Greenby , because unlike PN who I have over many years found more responsive, Greenby have not responded to a Ticket I raised on another matter 12 days ago ![]()

I feel nervous writing this, in case it's tempting fate, but as of this morning (Monday) it's working properly - both on client and webmail.

It's so sad that we are all EX PN users on here with the same story: 'Greenby is not working'. So I ask the same question again: "before Plusnet dumped us all, did Plusnet thoroughly research Greenby to make sure that Greenby (and Roundcube) were workabale and reliable?" I fear not.
I read in the computer press a few months ago that Plusnet were off-loading 1.5 million PN users to Greenby. Has this 1.5 million swamped Greenby and they can't cope with the sudden deluge of new customers?
I didn't want to leave PN with my emails - Plusnet said sorry, but off you go.
i wanted to stay with PN broadband, with a digital landlane connection for my telephone - they said we only do broadband, but 'no' digital landline - so Plusnet said off you go and sent me to EE for my broadband and digital phone line.
I then got an email from PN: "sorry you are leaving us". Leaving them? They got rid of me !#$!?!!!
AND, now I read in the computer press that Plusnet are laying off staff in a big way !#$!?!!! I wonder why?![]()
If Plusnet had offered a paid-for email service I would have stayed with them...

I still had a glitch with one of my accounts. After re-entering the password and restarted mail client a few times it finally managed to connect though I had been able to login ok to webmail. Fingers crossed...

I just realised that that warning message is generated by OE Classic 5.3.1. The problem seems to be slowness of the server at Greenby. I can send emails without difficulty. In the mailer I set my outgoing (send) server as relay.plus.net, port 587, and have not ticked 'Outgoing server requires authentication'. For my incoming (receive) server, I have mail.plus.net, port 110. That has worked for the past 16 years with Plusnet.
Over a dozen delayed emails came in today so the incoming server (mail.plus.net) must be correct.

I wrote: " I get login failure every time with my Plusnet username and password."
Today I tried with my full Plusnet email address and my Plusnet password. I got into Greenby webmail and successfully sent a test message.

It seems to be working fine for me now. Bearing in mind it was Sunday at the end of a holiday period, I'm prepared to give Greenby the benefit of the doubt on this occasion. However, I accept that for some people, this would have been more than just an irritation.
But this doesn't change the fact that I'm very disappointed in Plusnet for moving our email to a lesser provider. I am retired and not happy about having to pay to maintain my email address in years to come and I will reconsider my contract with Plusnet on expiry.

Glad to hear others are back to "normal" with email working as it should. This morning I started up and initially found it not working but decided to restart my email client ("thunderbird") and sign in again and all seems back to working correctly !! It's very disappointing that this "Flakiness" is continually cropping up.

I just searched online: "Is Plusnet laying off staff?"
Top of the search list was: Plusnet has just laid off over 100 more staff. See it says more staff - so how many had already gone previously?
It goes on to say that this is all part of BT's rebranding strategy
We are all slagging off Plusnet for what they have done to us, but it seems that parent BT is thoroughly to blame for the shambles - first (i) in downsizing Plusnet and secondly (ii) to see the complete closure of Plusnet sometime in the near future?
We had the most marvellous company in Plusnet - and Plusnet had the best (and informed) support staff ever! And, right from day one they came across as friends.
We have the BT Group - comprising: BT, Plusnet and EE. Soon to be just BT and EE???
