Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

I’ve only asked for your last post to be moved.

Have you been able to revisit your assured reproducible issue with sending to multiple Microsoft addressees please?

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

On a positive note...

My MS Outlook is on a Windows PC configured for POP3S and SMTPS with Credentials as I am connecting via VM RFoG.

At 9:30am using MS Outlook I sent 1 trial email with 3 recipients ( format HTML ) :

1x hotmail.com
1x outlook.com
1x gmail.com ( my Gmail a/c )

50 mins later and no rejection messages.

Delivery to gmail.com was very quick.
Looking at Thunderbird in the detailed source ( header ) material seen for the Gmail delivery :

Received: from avasout-ptp-004.plus.net (avasout-ptp-004.plus.net. [84.93.230.250])
and SPF / DKIM / DMARC were all Passed by Gmail.

I will keep a watch on what happens next.

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

I have just had a message with 4 recipients rejected as bulk mail. After referring to their best practices it said "Was this helpful? Send feedback to Microsoft". So I clicked on the link and it said "Sorry, page not found".

@Richard_R

And what address was that sent from?

you@youraccount.plus.com or some other sending address?

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

Earlier this afternoon, I sent an HTML email from my user@subdomain.plus.com address using MS Outlook to 4 Microsoft addresses (2@hotmail, 1@outlook, 1@live) and 4 others. It is now 2 hours later and no rejections have been received. However, bearing in mind my post #720 (rejection after 16+ hours!), I’m not getting too excited just yet.

I've just sent a test message:

From: my main mailbox [myName]@[myAccount].plus.com

To: two recipeints, [person]@live.com, [differentPerson]@outlook.com

I've not had the 'usual' instant bounce from at least one recipient, that is definitely a change for the better but it's to soon to say the problem has at long last been resolved.

I have asked both contacts (via WhatsApp) to let me know if / when they get my email message to them.  I will report back when I hear from them.

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

@dave I can report:

1) still no bounces from either of the two MS accounts

2) at least one of the two recipients has received their copy of the message

3) while I've not yet heard from the other recipient, the lack of a bounce from their address suggests it did reach them.  I know the person is busy at the moment so I'm not surprised they've not responded to my request for confirmation of delivery.

All of this is a definite change for the better so I'm hopeful that, four months on from me starting this topic, I may hear the fat lady singing in the near future.

Is there anyone else who's been following this topic since the beginning still here?  Can you too now send to multiple MS recipients like you could back in the Olden Days?

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

I can also confirm that I have received no rejection messages from my email and that one of the hotmail recipients has replied.

Does this mean that no avasout servers remain on block lists or have we just got lucky on that score?

I hope that the business lets us know what has changed i.e. whether Microsoft have relented or Plusnet has found a way round the problem.

@abitpedantic I too hope Plusnet give us some sort of explanation of how this has been fixed in the end but I'll be surprised if they do.

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

@dave I can now report that the second message also reached the MS recipient.  That's the first time in four months I've been able to send one message to multiple MS accounts.

I've just 'replied to all', now I wait to see if I can continue a conversation with multiple MS accounts.  If I can, then I expect the fat lady to take a step nearer to me and I might at last her her singing, albeit faintly, in the distance.

My fingers are crossed this really is a solid fix that lasts ... If it is, find your libretto for Habanera !

To the best of my knowledge, there have been no changes made to Plusnet's systems... would not be appropriate to comment further.

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

Thank you @Townman but as Superusers are not Plusnet staff it still would be nice if Plusnet could confirm this problem has gone away because of some change outside of the Plusnet systems, @plusnettony perhaps?

Or have Plusnet not learnt anything from the anger and frustration their limited communication about this matter has stirred up over the last four months?

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

My understanding of the problem was that it was a change on the Microsoft side that has resolved this not the Plusnet side. I believe this is a permanent fix to the issue but when I posted last week it was a cautious one because I wanted to see what people were actually seeing rather than what was expected.
