Freenet madasafush password not accepting

Hi
Hoping someone can help - I use an old ******@freenetname.co.uk email address.
I changed my password in the MAAFA and it has worked however I can no longer sign into Plusnet webmail to see emails as it’s saying password incorrect.
I see somebody had the same issue before but there is no fix just a pm. Hope someone can assist in the plusnet team to fix this.

A warm welcome to the forums.

As a first step I suggest you verify that the new password actually works.  Use the email server diagnostics to check that the credentials work - see the link below.

Check the IMAP and SMTP servers - use both the new and the old password.

 

Is it a long password?  Does it use special characters?

I have seen instances in the past where the user portal will allow passwords to be set which webmail cannot use.  But that was a long time ago.

Just a sanity check - which webmail service are you running?  I am not certain that https://webmail.plus.net can be used for Freenet / MAAF email accounts.

Hi - thanks for your help.
The link to webmail you have sent is how I normally access my emails on this particular email address.
It does not work now that I’ve changed the password on Madasafish but worked before.
My partners email works fine on the webmail link.

My password looks to be ok I was just giving myself a stronger password.
I think it is something Plusnet need to do at their side but I’m not sure how to contact them with this.

Which band do you select from the drop-down options?

Have you run the diagnostic tests?

I just always use the Plusnet drop down. I do the same for my other freenetname account.

Sorry I do not know how to do the diagnostics?

There is a user called muna who seems to have had the same problem and it is now fixed.  Is it that Plusnet need to do something at their end  to accept the new password.

Hi - I never had this email set up on windows or phone so this would not apply.
I have tried setting up the account on my mail account on iPad but this also says incorrect password.

The only way I ever accessed this email account before changing password on the MAAF account page was through the webmail/plusnet link and using the Plusnet inky from the drop down.

I do not know who to contact to assist with this and I unfortunately not very technically minded to try anything else. I feel as though something needs updating at plusnet side but not sure.
