@widgetwilk39 Are you aware that Plusnet are closing their email service and migrating all email accounts to a third party supplier called Greenby. This has been going on in stages for many months and it has been a complete disaster. Have a look in the Email forum board to see the endless problems.
It could be that you have been migrated to Greenby and you have had no advance notification.

I think it's more likely a Greenby problem but like most migrated plusnet email users I am pretty much in the dark.

Another stoppage at 16:07 on 11th Feb.
POP3 servers are authenticating but failing to deliver any new mails to the Outlook inbox.
IMAP server authenticates but disconnects before updating the inbox.

Hi, apologies if I should have started a new thread, but I'm new here.
I have a @totalise.co.uk email account that had previously been migrated to plusnet.
I think I have been migrated again, but to something called squirrel mail.
It might actually be Greenby - I'm not sure.
I managed to access my email until this morning.
Can anyone advise please?
Thanks.

Same here. Failing this morning, then OK, now failing again. In the time it was working, I received a message from PN titled "Important information about your Plusnet service" and starts "please read" which might be about moving me to Greenby, but as Thunderbird has only downloaded the first few bytes, I can't read to whole of it until the PM servers are working again! Pings to mail.plus.net are not getting through, so it is definitely their end.

Might this be why I have failed to connect a new (to me) laptop? It’s an old Toshiba but I have copied exactly settings from two older which work. How would I know if I have been migrated?

Hi @chips.
When a user is migrated to Greenby, they'll receive an email confirming this 30 days before migration, and another email once migration is complete.
You can find more details on the Greenby FAQ page here.

Oh no - they sometimes, like me, don't.

If you are getting migrated to Greenby, get a new provider like gmail. Greenby are useless. I can't egt any emails through them, stopped working last week out of the blue. Raised a ticket but they stopped dealing with it last Thursday and now won't even respond. They are the worst provider ever. Been with Plusnet (Free-Online) for close on 30 yrs and had no problems, since being migrated to Greenby its one problem after another. Plusnet customer service has always been brilliant but Greenby's is non exsistant.
