Re: Emails not showing up in inbox

@Marsh

Hi Josh,

Thank you for that, which confirms at a high-level what is already understood, though there is still devil in the detail.

The grid describes "Mailbox Capacity" but is unclear about that capacity being...

  • Per individual mailbox
  • The sum of all mailboxes on the account

Also with the exception of MAAF there is no indication of the number of mailboxes which may be on an account - just one or many?

The 1GB capacity accounts may have an unlimited number of mailboxes, each having the shared use of the 1GB capacity.  But what about the others?

Excluding MAAF with a domain where the inference is 3 mailboxes, is it a single mailbox per account or as hinted in this thread, multiple mailboxes ... each of 250MB or they all sharing the 250MB?

EDIT: Crossing posts @MisterW  - good spot.

@Anric - you might try to find out if this user has their own domain name and then if the mailbox in question is the primary MAAF mailbox (capacity 250MB) or if it is a secondary having only a 100MB quota.

@Townman I assumed they must have if they've got 3 mailboxes

Re: Emails not showing up in inbox

@Townman

I know that there is a domain involved, as their email addresses references it. From what information I’ve been able to extract it’s possible that it’s not the primary inbox, but that then raises the question that if it only had a 100Mb limit how was it able to still be operating with over 120Mb in it?

Sorry if this sounds a little vague, but I’m trying to sort this in my own head so that I can then ask a question that will give a useful answer. Also they’re currently in a stressful situation regarding ageing relatives, hence why the email is quite important at the moment.

Oh sorry I must have missed that specific clarification you wanted as far as I am aware the mailbox capacity is set for the entire account and is not a limit for each individual inbox except for MAAF which will have its own 100MB's limit

For this issue I am not sure what actually caused it taking a look into the account no staff intervention was needed to resolve this case

but that then raises the question that if it only had a 100Mb limit how was it able to still be operating with over 120Mb in it?

I am not sure on the full ins and outs on our email service on how they handle mail-boxes being over capacity what I will need to do is ask around with some of our net-ops people to see if I can find some clarity on the process or @plusnettony maybe able to spread some light on this question
