Email for domain names

Hi,

I was with Globalnet then madasafish then plusnet I have always had my domain name email address

I have mine and my dads to <redacted>.co.uk

mine @David<redacted>.co.uk which is linked to my globalnet account

I have my dads this shows as the inbox is full even though I have downloaded all the emails from it as i am using kmail. This stopped working this week. is this something to do with migration / do I need to do anything?
currently if i send email to my self from gmail I get it if i send to my dads account I get email box is full.

I have had this email since around 2008 going back to my emails.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Re: Email for domain names

Fix

What do you mean by “downloaded”?

If the mailbox has been used with an IMAP client (which is typical) then there will be sent items and a trash folder not seen if the flawed advice of using a POP3 client to “download” (to remove mail from the server) has been followed.  There could be other folders as well.  POP3 rarely delivers anything other than problems.

Access the mailbox via an IMAP client (webmail will do) to check the content of ALL folders.  If there is stuff there you want to keep, you will need to configure a device based IMAP client and then archive those folders locally under your control.

Re: Email for domain names

Thanks,

I Use Kmail for both accounts - I download my emails I havnet setup anything new just stopped working this week saying mailbox full. This indicates to me that its a server issue. nothing has been changed since 2008 my domain is the same the only real thing ive had to change is the smtp server to send?

are you saying I should be able to log into my dads account via a webemail interface?

Thanks

Dave

Re: Email for domain names

If kmail is configured as POP3 there is the possibility of there being folders other than inbox which POP3 does not see / access / download.

If the mailbox has been accessed via an IMAP client (that includes webmail) there’s a fair chance that there is also a sent items folder and trash folder.
