Collecting emails very slow, sometimes server unavailable.

Since last weekend POPping for emails has been getting increasingly more slow and often returns server unavailable messages. I'm now getting this more than 50% of the time.
Socket Error: 10060, Port: 110, Protocol: POP.A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
Is the server under a lot of load?

Is this with mail.plus.net and which email client are you using?

I have tried with mail.plus.net, and also used the individual IP addresses of the two load balancers (212.159.9.81 and 212.159.8.81) in case the problem which reared up some weeks ago has returned, but still slow. Using Incredimail, latest snoop-free version. My wife is using Outlook and it's the same.
Webmail is also very slow, sometimes not connecting.

I've just tried webmail (with a Force9 account) and got a server error FETCH 1:* ...

This is becoming a significant problem! Today collecting emails by POP is extremely unreliable, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. I can't see any reference to it on the Service Status page; is it known about and/or being addressed?

Just POP for me. It's been iffy since a week last Sunday.

There's something seriously amiss with the email servers somewhere! Most of the time I get this again when POPping..

@Gandalf Did you manage to investigate this? It's more than two weeks now it's been playing up!
