I have a legacy email account which I and my partner don’t use much any more. It hasn’t yet been migrated to Greenby and the last few months we have also both noticed the big increase in spam.
We’ve been actively removing the plusnet email addresses from every site we had used in the past, to the point where we think we can safely shut down the plusnet emails and not bother with the migration to Greenby.
We use Apple products only …iPhones, Mac and iPad so we’ve moved any old emails that we need to keep into folders in the “on my Mac” section of the Mail app.
Since I believe these accounts are POP3 is there anything else we should do before requesting the accounts be closed?

@Dogswotzitz If the accounts have not yet been migrated, I understand you should get an email notifying you of the intention to move them at least 30 days in advance, which I think gives you the option to decline the move, and therefore effectively closes the accounts.

That will save me a job then.
If I’ve already saved emails to folders in the On my Mac section, should they now be safe so when the account is closed I won’t lose them?

Is the Mac mail program st to POP or IMAP? To be honest, I can't answer that with any degree of certainty as I don't use a Mac.

If you do allow the email to migrate to Greenby, the Greenby portal has options to either :
1) Disable all email accounts.
2) Close the Greenby a/c ending your access to that service.
