Well, I've given up expecting a solution to this.

Even after raising a complaint with Plusnet nothing has truly changed.

Issues such as this are definitely not being looked in to with any with any sense of urgency.

6 weeks or more and no further ahead.

I had even asked the complaints department about waiving the early cancellation fee and leaving to get a better deal on my broadband.

He chuckled and said the email service is a 'free' addition and nothing to do with the broadband service.

Times change I guess, no longer have a landline nor a working email, yet still pay more for internet connection.

Bit of a sh*t show really.

Thanks to all that have attempted to help but this is going nowhere with the support department.

Are you still getting sender blocked by local policy?

Can you please review again.  The previous escalation does not seem to have resolved the user’s issue.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Yes mate,still getting the 550 failed to set sender....sender domain rejected blacklisted by local policy.

On the 08/10/2025 i was told "Your account was impacted by SMTP incident INC05745169"

They gave confirmed on the 15/11/2025 that the  "@myaccountname.plus.com mailbox has been unblocked and removed from the incident (INC05820167)"

So, at least 2 different incidents.......?

I can, and alway could, send emails from any other new mailbox I added.

I don't think the domain is an issue but rather the 3 existing email addresses that had the mailboxes already created.

I was informed on 17/11/2025 that another potential cause for the blaklist error has been identified and it is being looked in to.

In all honestly, it feels like I'm being mugged off here.......

....and I kinda regret renewing my 24 month contract with this company.

Usually when this happens. we'd recommend you do a full security check (virus/malware scan etc, and if clean, change the relevant passwords. Once done, if local, we can unlock for you.

I've just checked and am still unable to send from mydomain.  Still am getting "server responded:550 mydomain.co.uk sender domain rejected (blacklisted by local policy)"

I run a full virus/malware check daily almost and have changed passwords but nothing changes.

Hi @James_B 

Yes, I know there is an update pending. 

It was due last Friday but there was no update for the whole of last week from the team 'actively investigating' the problem.

I predict that this weeks update will be along the lines of, there is no update.

I have a friend who's partner provides the IT software/support to various large companies, i.e. national water and electricity suppliers.

They are only providing system critical updates to their clients until after Christams, all other problems are on hold - her current working day is about an hour!

I'm guessing it's a similar situation here, combine that with the problematic email service migration.

Are we really to believe that resolving email issues for it's customers should take 8 weeks and counting to sort out?

I'm still inclined to believe the first line supports answer when I phoned a couple of months back of "Yeah, they know there's problem with some email accounts, about 1%, they don't really know how to fix it. Don't expect it to be sorted anytime soon, the email support team has been wound down and all their time is taken up with the migration" or words along those lines.

Well, I have to admit feeling slightly contrite regarding my eariler messages of exasperation today. 🤐

Finally, after many weeks, it appears to be resolved.

Emails can now be sent from my existing 3 mailboxes using the Plusnet SMTP server settings.

Webmail, clunky as it is, also now sends without error.

A thank you to all the above for the time and effort invested throughout this, also to any others invloved.

Would it be possible to have an explanation of the problem?

 

@Pancho4  🤞 I'm hoping your problems are of a similar kind to mine and can now be resolved.

Part of the answer to this is that you (I think you) were on multiple servers. I've been shown the best way to check multiple servers at once now. This (and now having access) should assist people in future.

Cautiously - i am confirming that I have just been able to send from my domain. Fingers crossed it looks to be resolved !!
