The guidance “Note if you use one of the other brand email services, use the appropriate SMTP server name for that brand” covers that point.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

It does say that, but in my view it could be clearer, perhaps state the options before describing the process, it was here  

The following may be clearer

Launch a windows command line window (DOS window) - press windows-key+R - type CMD into the run box - click OK

Note: In example below it assumes you are using a plusnet email address, if you use one of the other brand email services supported by plusnet, use the appropriate SMTP server name for that brand. example for Free-Online you would use telnet relay.free-online.net.
