Alternatives to Greenby: email/domain hosting?

HI all,

OK, after 20+ years with Plusnet, I've decided to bite the bullet and switch. TBH the main reason I stayed with them was because of email and domain hosting, it was a pretty easy setup and kept me bought in for that time (unlike the quality of connection or the routers)..

So, with all the Greenby woes, I'm looking for cheap alternatives to host a very basic email service ( 2 light traffic users off my domain name) and a very basic static Wordpress website (placeholder) for very little money !

Any recommendations would be appreciated, I switch out of PlusNet next week.

thx

Dave

I agree with the recommendation for Mythic Beasts. I move to them a couple of years ago and have been very happy. I pay something like £4 a month for enough mail space for myself and two others. MB were helpful in migrating from Plusnet; I think they have been doing that quite a bit.

(I also use MB for my domain renewals etc.)

I should add that moving hosting and email was easy

+1 for Mytrhic https://www.mythic-beasts.com/hosting

Web 25 is £25/yr if you pay annually ( +£7/yr for domain registration )

I've been with them for 2 or 3 years now (mail only) but also moved a family member with website to them a year ago.

Support is excellent and very responsive via email

I transferred yesterday - very smooth and speedy.

@MisterW  is the expert here but I suspect that if you are leaving Plusnet and you have a personal domain hosted by Plusnet, that you need to transfer it out before you leave.

A very good point @Baldrick1 😀

@d8smt Your Plusnet account will get closed when you leave and trying to get the domain transferred will be difficult on a closed account

Zoho Mail does the job at modest cost. I have had no problems with their service.

@Jones good value if you only have a single mailbox, gets expensive for multiple mailboxes. Athough you do get extra storage per mailbox whereas with Mythic all mailboxes share the overall storage.
