I have just realised someting else is missing from new forum
on old forum if you replied to a post and someone else did at same time , we used to get a warning than while you were typing another post appeared , which gave you a chance to edit your post ..
We seam to be missing this on Lithium
samsung 850evo 250gig , WD black 2 TB . Asus Phoebus sound ,
16 gig Avexir ram 2400 , water cooling Corsair H100i gtx ,
Corsair 750HXI Psu , Phanteks Enthoo pro case .

This is something we flagged up early on in the project as its very useful to know if someone else replied to a thread during the time you were composing a reply.
The system currently doesn't do this so we found an idea from other users requesting this and we all upvoted or commented on it.

Access to that part of the forum not allowed.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

BECAUSE it marks the post as Read and you can also see if someone else beat you to a post but you can also check again for typos, which despite checking previously I've found sometimes I still have some

Also you can click Reply to a post earlier on in the thread so as to make quoting easier and you are returned back to the post to which you replied which could mean your reply post is not actually visible.

Personally I hate such threaded view forums. Replies often end up in the wrong thread, but maybe in some cases one would never know.

We had the option of doing this from an early stage of development but it was universally hated. There was even an option in the system to convert the entire community over to do this for any user who wanted to have it displayed this way. We asked for this to be removed as most would see the forums in the normal way and it would get confusing as people would just hit the reply button anywhere in the flow to create a response to the last post.

http://forums.thinkbroadband.com is an example of that and personally I always use flat mode
If you look at this thread http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/plusnet/t/4480654-plusnet-well-do-you.html?o=31&vc=1 in flat mode and threaded mode you can see the effect

That's not true with regard to the points you've recently made. There are "features" missing that we want adding, and there's a lot of good stuff some of which needs some "fine tuning" to put it politely. There's things like the Spam filter that need fine tuning (addressed elsewhere) and there are a limited number of things that need changing. There are of course the reported bugs that need fixing - but were were reminded about all the bugs there were with SMF when it was first introduced in 2007 - though I still reckon there are more bugs here
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that is totally abysmal at present is the search engine.
Edit: And the "work-around" to your original issue until the correct feature is provided, is to "View discussion in a popup" just before posting to check there are no new posts.
