Randomly, but very often today, notifications are not appearing in my notification feed - anyone else having issues?

Can you expand on your observation please.

@James_B advised me earlier today that there has been an update ... which appears to have addressed the variability in the number of notifications reported.  My prior experience where the notification count changes from 101 + PM count to some lower figure has not been seen today.

That could hint at some general changes to the notification processing space...

@Townman I can, although I can't give specific examples off the top of my head. There was a period this afternoon when I got the pop-up notification that someone had replied to a subscribed topic, but checking my notification feed showed no new notifications - I had to go to 'unread posts' to see what the replies were. Had I not been watching for replies, I would have missed them until I did a 'general sweep'.

Hi John,

Ah the toaster popup!  That can be hours behind the times, offering repeated notifications of things which happened a while ago.  I’ve noticed such if I’ve left a session logged in with keep alive.  On refreshing a page / navigating several stale toaster notifications can appear.

Your experience is slightly different to mine, I was seeing the pop-up when the message was posted, as one would expect, but the actual notification never appeared in the list. As I said, I had to go to 'unread posts' to actually find it.

I don't know when the update which fixed your 'error' was rolled out, but I wonder if it was  during the period I was experiencing the failures?

Just noticed this morning that my post count has lost about 6,500 entries - I was on close to 26,000 last night - now I only have 18,071, What is going on???

Looks like we've all lost posts - your count has gone down to ~11,000.

Your lifetime metrics are still correct in your profile page, so the issue is only surfacing in the author-statistics block next to your posts.

A ticket has been raised with the vendor.

On the notification front, please keep an eye on it and send any specific examples you notice to me via PM.

Yes, I noticed the profile was correct, @James_B . If I encounter any notification glitches, I will let you know.

@James_B This is becoming very regular occurrence ,  and I haven't got the inclination to log it every time. I don't know if it is just me, for some strange reason, or if it is happening to others and they are just not bothered.

@James_B A further observation - just now. I got a 'toaster' notification of a reply, click the 'notifications' tab - nothing there, so clicked the popup and read the message/post. thirty seconds later - same toaster 'popup' but still it is not in my notifications. This is a new phenomenon -
