Just what the subject says really, a definitive yes / no answer would be appreciated thanks.
Solved! Go to Solution.
About as much chance as Gary Glitter having another hit record would be my guess.
@JonoH Can you provide the answer to this please?
Well, that will be down to the users.
.... the users and the abusers.
Ah but there is no and here, the users are the abusers.
@Mook I'm confused - what are you trying to say - all GC users abuse the system? If so, I would be careful - personally, as one who used to be a regular contributor, I find that a little insulting.
I'm not trying to say anything, there is no hidden message just a statement of fact.
So nice to see that General Chat is up and running again as promised.... oh hang on, it's not.
Maybe those that would like to see it come back should send an email to Santa.

It's nice & peaceful without GC, long may it continue......
At least until after Christmas... (2021/22/23.....?)
Perhaps just a few specific conversations
ie Heat Pumps.
Not an open free for all.
Then any nastiness would just result in only a part of GC being shut down.
With far stronger moderation.
GC became far too large, and relatively unmoderated.
Perhaps limit individuals contributions to just one or two a day.
Just too many daily scatter gun contributions from some prolific posters.
With seemingly nothing better to do to fill their lives.
If General Chat is such a problem for you, then why did you continue using it and keep posting topics? - You now need to face the fact that you were either trolling or actually loved GC - though you can't admit it. No seriously, if you disliked it so much, why did you continue visiting and posting? - Why?
@JonoH This is just one example of the troubles that have been happening. Laegen wants it shut down for good but was one of the people that would post the most in there!
"GC became far too large, and relatively unmoderated."
There were only about 15 regulars even using it - including yourself. How did it become far too large? It shrunk when it was converted from the old SMF forum to this new "thing". Back then there was a lot of activity but we've lost loads of members because of that switch.
The forum seems to be doing perfectly fine at the moment without the hassle of people having to moderate the General Chat section.
Do we really need a General Chat section as part of an internet service providers help forum?
