Icon with the link to the current post gone

When viewing a topic, before the title of each post we used to have an icon which had a link to the post itself so that we could post links to individual posts.
It's gone walkabout - can we have it back please.

Moderators note by James (James_H) : This topic has been merged with another - apologies for the confusing order of some of the posts. Wink

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

This wouldn't be the very, very, very useful icon that gave you the link to an individual post would it?

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

Oh yeah, where's that link gone? It does get used when referencing a single post across a long thread.

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

For some reason the display of the title and the ability to enter a different title when posting a reply has gone as well.

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

Isn't the reply #1 link directly to the posts
this should go to your first reply on this thread.

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

Just to make it clearer, at the top of the post there should be a link like this.

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

That's the trouble with the wishy-washy colours - I hadn't spotted that that was a link. I've just compared it with the PUG forums and on there (where we still have the icon and title) it is not a clickable link which is probably another reason why I didn't spot it.

Ah, but it would be boring if everything were the same Smiley

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

I actually link the way TBB does this with "[link to this post]" in the headings of every post. I think a lot of people are unaware (both in SMF and phpBB) that you can link to an individual post (or see such a link posted and wonder how it was done).

Or could we just keep it to one thread rather than three? Smiley

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

To complete this topic in case anyone reads it because of the title:
Chris spotted that the < Reply #nn at the top of each post is now a link to that post. Linky
I'd prefer to see something more obvious such as the "[link to this post]" that TBB has.

I'm not very impressed with the
Quote
« on Today at 15:55 »

which appears on the first post of the topic!

Just for you, I've linked the main two together.

Re: Icon with the link to the current post gone

Or a friendly passing mod could either lock one or merge the 2 together Cheesy
