This (attached) is where I'm at currently after a bit of chat with the moderators. We're not in perfect harmony yet (and probably never will be) along the lines of:
- One board for Operating Systems
- Not splitting Home Phone and Broadband Phone
- Having an 'Other' section in Community Support
Love the fact I've managed to fit it all on one page, but bear in mind we'll need to do some modifications on the theme.
Initial thoughts?

What about having a dedicated forum for complaints only into which could go all customer complaints?

Community Support: Is it necessary to have Accounts & Billing and E-mail? Could they be hived off into another section?
They will only be an issue when someone complains so couldn't people just use Community if they have something to say about these matters?
PUG trials - could this just not be generic with the use of tags?
General Computing - seems fine.
It has just occurred to me that if there were tags when posting a new thread the subject area would be instantly identifiable.
It is what they use in the Ubuntu forum.
Anyway, thanks for your hard work James.

I think the router element can be added into the description of the forum. I'm happier with just Broadband as it covers a wide range.
I want to keep Accounts and Billing as it is as it covers subscription queries and product changes. I do also think that Email warrants its own forum.
To put things into perspective - this won't happen overnight! I need web dev to build me a Plusnet coloured theme based on the one I've used - we might have a bit of a wait for that.
The PUG trial stuff is really upto PUG to decide how they wish to interact on the Community Forums.

But where is: the Referrers' Forum, and the Archives?

The current rants category seems to be a major section, in terms of volume.

You would highlight it in the relevant section of Community Support.
@ Gary
We're dropping the referrals forum because it's heavily underused. The archives will still be available.

It was well used but in many cases incorrectly and we moved quite a few out to other boards.
The advantage of the proposed structure is that complaints/problems are more likely to land in the correct slot.
Rants and Raves was really only of use to highlight major gripes but providing the Comms Team and, to a much lesser extent, the moderators are on the ball they will be picked up and dealt with expeditiously.
