Usually when I run a ping test using - http://www.pingtest.net/, the program pings a load of servers and then proceeds to do a jitter test using the server with the lowest ping.
Normally the lowest pings (for me) come from one of about five sites in London - which seems logical because London is my nearest major gateway. However tonight when I use this program, the pings returned in London (and presumably the rest of England) are so high, that I am getting lower pings from servers in different COUNTRIES !
The lowest ping I can get in London is 102ms, whereas Dublin is returning 59ms, and least jitter from Norway !

What the hell is going on ?
If there is less latency from foreign servers, then is this bottleneck in Plusnet gateways or in the main BT trunks across England ?

Yes I have still have full speed, and pings have returned from >100ms, to about 40ms (rather than the 23ms I used to have) - which you said is due to interleaving having been applied to my connection.
Is my line stable enough to have interleaving switched off ? - my router shows maybe one or two CRC errors per day.
