Re: Home Phone Price changes and Line Rental Saver

I suspect the callers only pay the normal call charge (which may be free if during their free allowance period) with BT picking up the mobile overhead. I don't remember being charged extra when ringing Dad at the time his was diverted.
That's only the same as the normal way BT call diversion operates. I used to always call the work number of a friend even during the evening since I knew his work number diverted to his mobile. It was still free for me under "evenings and weekends", simply he picked up the mobile element of the charge. I felt guilty about it and stopped doing it...

Re: Home Phone Price changes and Line Rental Saver

some are even better.
I used to divert my works phone to a works mobile, so that any one calling me local would go to my mobile.  the wife even called me on my Birthday when out with the group were having an evening meal in Zell Am Zee, Austria, all for the cost of a local call
I assume the same costs would apply with BT

Called a number in the republic of Ireland which was diverted to a mobile without any announcement of such and was charged at mobile rates which weren't cheap for a different country.

BT service is very reliable (touch wood) but nice to know it's there. Doubt the callers would like to see their bill though!  Wink

Callers wont see a difference on their bill at all, the caller is charged the normal rate for the call with usually the divertee picking up the charges.  In this case BT IIRC cover the divert charges.

The caller doesnt get charged any extra for the diverted call, just the standard call rate.

@bud - by 'standard call rate' is that the cost of the mobile call as I was charged overseas mobile rate to Ireland (from UK) and for info landline calls to the Republic are free for me?
Have learnt my lesson though and don't call this particular number any more!

It can't have been a landline number you called then as if it was you would have only had to pay for a landline call as you do not pay for the diverted leg
