Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

Hi Lynn,
It looks like the fault ticket is raised and in the right place with our faults team now. We're just waiting the completion of testing and we should then have some information back to share with you.
It normally takes around 24 hours so hopefully we should know what were looking at around this time tomorrow.

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

I have heard back from the Faults Team and they reckon that turning on interleaving should solve my connection problems.  I know they always say this can affect gaming but as I don't play games at work (apart from 6 million games of Spider and Freecell per day!) they never say what else it can affect so what are the other disadvantages if any?
At least the line seems to have been OK yesterday and I didn't notice any disconnections so thanks for your help everyone.

There aren't any other disadvantages really, we usually put this on a line that's not dropping too much - so it's going to be a case of seeing how things go.
Interleaving mainly affects gamers because it increases their ping ever so slightly which can have an impact when playing games.

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

Humph!  Just had an awful lot of disconnections and the noise on the line is so bad today that it was drowning out the conversation when on the phone.  Could anyone tell me if the line is being worked on at the moment which would account for it or is this another round of problems?
Just checked the quiet line test and it is terrible.

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

No-one was working on your line at the time of this happening 😕
The Faults Team have still got hold of your Fault Ticket, they'll do some more testing on this and get back in touch with you.

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

Today it is worse than ever.  It is now interfering with our business as it is unreliable and unusable.  Can somebody please look at this with more urgency?

I can see that we've got you an engineer booked in to get this sorted out for you.
Really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you so far.

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

Thanks for your sympathy Chris!  Just managed to nip in and reply while it's connected...
Scared to death now in case I get a bill for over £170 for the engineer to come out!
Could you post me one of your connection graphs please as today it's gone wild and I'd just like to see for myself how bad it's been.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

It looks as though you've had an horrific weekend of disconnects! Fingers crossed for the engineers visit.

Yikes!  That's worse than I thought.  We weren't in the office at the weekend so it's just as well looking at this!  Thanks for the graph.

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

Totally disappointed.  We waited till 6 o'clock and no engineer turned up yesterday.  When I contacted Plusnet today they said he had been at 2 p.m. but couldn't get access!  I am gobsmacked.  Now we have to wait till tomorrow for another appointment.
Broadband was totally unusable yesterday and I need it for my business and this is just so frustrating.  Can you please post another graph for yesterday?

Re: Wi-Fi Disconnections and Firewall ICMP Check

I'm really sorry that the engineer didn't show up as we had agreed and booked 😕
I can't actually post up another graph at the moment as some work that was done to the Community Site early this morning appears to have broken the graphing! It's being worked on under Problem 81529. As soon as it becomes available, I'll post one up.
