Re: unusably low speed

Did you use the pinhole factory reset or the GUI ?

The pinhole should completely delete all settings.

With the device on CWPM / TR069 it should automatically populate your broadband username and password.

Factory reset

Keep the button pressed for up to 30 seconds.
When the light on the front of your hub turns green, release the reset button.
The Hub will now restart, once the front of the hub turns blue, it's now restored to factory settings..

Re: unusably low speed

Having done a pinhole factory reset, my windows 11 laptop finds the network, and says "action needed, no internet. Open browser and connect".

I press on "open browser and connect". It opens my Firefox pointing to:
www.msftconnecttest.com/redirect

and the page says:
Secure Site Not Available.
Under that I click on "continue to http site".

It goes to the Hub Manager.

All settings look fine. But I am still not connected to the Internet. Broadband status say "connected".

Re: unusably low speed

If you look at the Hub Two >Home >Advanced settings >Broadband >Internet

Does it have your broadband username @plusdsl.net or [email protected]?

Should be [email protected] with the password you use to log in to your Plusnet account

Re: unusably low speed

It says:

Broadband username: [email protected]

Under it, the password is hidden.

Re: unusably low speed

Try changing the 'setup' to your username, and the password to your account password. If this fails, either the router is faulty, or your account details are incorrect somewhere in the system.

@zahidaziz1

Did you manage to change the username?

All is required is to click 'Disconnect' when you are on  >Home >Advanced settings >Broadband >Internet screen.

Clicking 'Connect' saves the username and password.

Re: unusably low speed

Thank you tremendously. That's got me connected. But of course the original problem of slow access is still there.

I am now away for a couple of days. By then the new router should arrived.

Re: unusably low speed

Glad you have got connected, @zahidaziz1 .

We can explore your 'slow access' issue when you return, but a word of warning - the new Hub will not solve it.

@zahidaziz1

When you get to replace the Hub, please make sure you use the power supply that comes with it.

To save you reconfiguring all your WiFi devices  you will be able to reconfigure the replacement with match those you currently use. This will be good step to take as you have a number of Ring Cameras.

To change on the Hub view screen >Home >Advanced settings >Wireless (don't forget to save)

I note the attached event log only show one 5GHz device "Redmi-Note-14-Pro-5G"

I also note there is 1x iPad and 2x iPhone on the network, they do not appear to be connected to the Hub WiFi? Do you have a WiFi Extender of some sort?

Any idea what 192.168.1.123 SSDHCPCLIENT is? This is has a very slow link (Rate) speed back to the Hub

2.4G Client associate from b0:2e:ba:01:61:48 (IP=192.168.1.123) RSSI=-45, Rate=1Mbps, host SSDHCPCLIENT

Can you recall have you connected a new device to you network when you started to get the slowness?

No need to reply until you are back home.

Re: unusably low speed

While travelling on a coach I was looking at a Facebook page of a local group in our area and discovered that people all over, with various providers, have been having similar problems starting around when I encountered them. One says, I quote below:

We also have no internet connection since Friday lunchtime. I have been on to Plusnet, done all their line checks & swapped the router for a spare one. Saturday morning an Openreach engineer came to check our equipment which is fine. Then he did a card swap at the green box, then he went to the exchange as there was also a problem with the landline. Then he came back to the box and did another card swap.

We still have no internet and have a call-out booked for Monday. The engineer did say that he had seen ‘odd’ internet problems all over Beeston, but there was no official outage in the area.

Re: unusably low speed

People with EE, Vodafone, etc are all reporting the same.

From near my very road a man says:

Yes it’s down for us in Bramcote, spent 2 hours on the phone yesterday to second level support, he was baffled and is sending us another brand new router even though we just installed one yesterday…I feel they haven’t a clue what the issue is!

Re: unusably low speed

Another local report:

This is an interesting one. Affecting hundreds of users in the area, across all ISPs, yet when the ISP support is contacted (EE, Vodafone, Plusnet, Sky, TalkTalk), they run the line test and confirm that everything is fine. It looks as someone in the Openreach misconfigured something on Friday afternoon and bugerred off for a weekend.

Re: unusably low speed

New routers from various ISPs must be flooding our area now! Possibly Royal Mail bewildered and overwhelmed!

Re: unusably low speed

Sending another router is (a)wasting money (b) kicking the can down the road (c)frustrating customers and (d) not actually looking to rectifying the actual problem.

@zahidaziz1

Yes it’s down for us in Bramcote,

My daughter lives in Bramcote and she's not mentioned any problems with her Sky FTTP connection.
