sending and receiving mail in other languages

I opened this question first to Plusnet way back in 2004
To date I still have no latest info......
I would like to send and receive mail in cyrillic...I have many friends in Russia ..we have to use another mail system in order to write in cyrillic .
We would welcome the Plusnet stand on whether it is possible to recognise other languages please

For what it worth, I use FireFox and ThunderBird which allow browsing and email in Cyrillic:

-http://www.stanwardine.com/russification.htm
If you go at ThunderBird website, you'll find a Russian dictionary too.

And that works with PlusNet.
