rDNS Change Request on Static IP

Hi all,

Hope you're good!

I have ordered full fibre and will lose my static ip in the process. Could you please remove my rDNS from

212.159.101.206 . I have removed the A record already, but have changed it to a CNAME for dyndns ready for the switch next week. If need me to remove that totally let me know! Please set the rDNS back to what you originally would use like 212-159-101-206.plus.net etc. Will miss my static ip but thanks for letting me have it all these years!

Have a good week ahead,

Chris

What makes you think you'll lose the static IP ?

Static IPs are linked to an account, as long as you are upgrading the existing account , the static IP will remain.

Re: rDNS Change Request on Static IP

Thanks for your reply! Yeah sorry, Plusnet have to migrate it to EE as has a voice line attached. Have to port it to SIP etc and plusnet side doesnt support that so they send any customer who needs line still to migrate to EE using a code from plusnet. I'd be happy with a new static ip if couldnt migrate that over but i'm sure this is different infrastructure so i'd lose my plusnet one anyway. Someone also said on here any fibre migrates you lose it, so not sure if that is wrong info that gave. Dynamic not a biggy as have a work around but will miss my static Smiley Had it many many years! Loved having full rDNS too!

It has been know for Customer support to tell people that, but its wrong!. New customers cant get a static IP but existing customers will retain it if they already have one.

Yes, AFAIK EE wont provide a static IP.

Plusnet have to migrate it to EE as has a voice line attached. Have to port it to SIP etc and plusnet side doesnt support that so they send any customer who needs line still to migrate to EE using a code from plusnet.

Plusnet have decided not to provide a VOIP (SIP) landline facility, so if you want an integrated broadband & landline then EE is the suggested route. It IS possible to stay with Plusnet for broadband and provision a voip landline from a third party.

Re: rDNS Change Request on Static IP

Thanks very much for your replies Smiley yeah pity as needed line, i could have ported it off elsewhere and then just had the full fibre with plusnet then. Pity at me getting wrong info, never mind! Thanks for giving me the correct info, much appreciated!

Is anyone able to sort my rDNS as would like that cleared?
