@Theguru

I also have a phoneline with them

Is the phone service a Digital voice service or still over the copper line ?

Yes it probably does.

Plusnet will transfer the cease the phone service as part of the transfer of the broadband.

If it had been digital voice, then I suspect the same is true, but since DV is relatively new I wasnt so sure.

@Theguru

Place the order with PN and let them handle the cancellation with EE. If you're still in contract you may be charged ETC's by EE.

At some point the 'Cheap but goes up in March 2026' structure will change to 'Higher but no price rise until March 2027'

Just be aware if cross checking prices

There's an argument that moving to Plusnet, BT. EE and any other ISPs that adds mid contract rises that now is the very worst time of year.

For example, if moving at the end of January, you only get 2 months at the sign up price, when at the end of March the price is hiked by typically £4 per month. Usually this increase is morphed in to the new customer price at some time in March.

The question has to be: "Will the new customer rate jump by this amount at the end of March"?

What with special deals, gift cards and all the rest of the gimmics, wthout the power of foresight it's impossible to predict the sweet spot.

That said, the signup price does generally drift lower through the year so partly balancing the effect.

Hence all the 'our lowest price' adverts as the ASA uses the last 12 months as the comparison.
